:bears:First James Bond film to reach that astronomical figure! Bravo! Not bad for a 50 year old franchise! in other news, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey claimed the top spot, again, in its third week with $32.9 million. The first entry in the new Tolkien prequel trilogy has now grossed so far $222.7 million which is a little more than LOTR: FELLOWSHIP OF THE RINGS at this same point, but way lower than THE TWO TOWERS or RETURN OF THE KING. Still it can finish its run with $300 million, which is what Jackson and the studio are hoping for. In the second spot, but breathing on the neck of Bilbo Baggins, is Django Unchained with $30.6 million. Since its opening on Christmas day until today, the Quentin Tarantino blood bath has grossed $64 million which is more than Inglorious Basterds did at the same point. Django most likely will become Tarantino's most successful film to date. In the third place and also doing impressive numbers, Les Miserables took home $28 million for a six days total of $67 million. The Broadway musical film adaptation is a big hit with female audiences (67%) and will do well for the following weeks when it will most likely be showered with Oscar nominations. In the forth spot Parental Guidance was able to take $14.8 million, better than what doomsayers were predicting. Tom Cruise's Jack Reacher landed in the fifth spot with $14 million. The film has grossed so far $44.6 million in two weeks which is a low figure for a Tom Cruise actioner.
