    Why you hate him? He is just a filmmaker who hasn't had a hit in ages. So he is not as relevant now as he was when he did "Do the Right thing" or "X". I despise more Michael Bay than Spike Lee. At least Lee's films have a grain of intelligence in them, something totally absent in 'the New Spielberg' Bay.

    reed reed reed my long time girlfriend is black and I love her family and on top of that I have enough black friends so do not act like I don't like Spike Lee because he's black. I don't like Spike Lee because he's a whiny cry baby nerd looking mother fucker. He cries racism at every turn and in turn comes off very racist himself. I won't even go deeper into this because I'm busy but please do not act like I'm some black hating racist.

    Spike is an annoying little shit....Malcolm X movie was GREAT...last movies from him I gave a shit about....Inside Man...he had his time in the 90's and he can still make some good/great movies today If he thinks outside the box...

    Tarantino had some shit movie but he bounces back....

    Talking about asian eating dog...when is the remake/reboot of BATTLE ROYALE coming out....or the american version whatever it is...I bet it will suck in a biblical level....fucking PG-13 all the way...THIS IS THE KIND of feel TARANTINO shouild work on....he would make it as griddy, violent and brutal as the original....

    Do The Right Thing, Summer of Sam, and Inside Man are very good moves, Right Thing is a classic actually.

    Never seen Malcolm X which is considered his best movie along with Right Thing.

    He is an annoying little runt though.

    Do the Right thing and Malcom X are great movies. That is all he has that is great. He has other good movies which i like.

    Malcom x is great only because of Denzel, who put on a performance of a lifetime IMO.

    but, in fairness, he did say that 20 years ago... hard to say he would be so cut and dry about it now... his father married a white woman, as well, so you could be talking about some other issues influencing his opinion... not excusing it, but people change in 20 years especially when they say some shit when they are still relatively new kids on the block with a big chip on their shoulders

    Yeah, I like Spike but he's a real wank sometimes.

    I remember years ago seeing Debbie Allen in an interview and saying she couldn't get Spike or John Singleton to commit to "Amistad" when she was shopping it around. Spielberg wasn't the first choice but he was the only one willing to actually make it.

    Thank god they both passed on it. Spike would have fucked it up with some of his "still in film school" stylistic approaches and Singleton would have somehow turned it into a modern day hood film.

    I wasn't impressed by "Amistad". IMO it is one Spielberg's least interesting films. The only sequence were it came alive was when they ship crew was tossing slaves to the sea. Aside from that, it felt like it was Spielbergs revision of "To Kill a Mockingbird" trial, but putting the until then main character in a secondary role.
