honestly, without America there would never be such a thing as British Rock and Roll because they never would have heard rock and roll in the first place

 

Point out where I said the UK started rock n roll :dunno:, or point out where I said America hasn't produced great rock n roll. Both viewpoints would be ridiculous. My point was that the UK has produced an astounding number of great rock n roll bands in relation to its size.

By this same reasoning I couldn't claim German, Spanish or Brazillian dominance in football because they're just copying England ::

The Beatles and Stones were both great... so was Dylan (and he fucking fundamentally altered the Beatles for the better)

The worst shit the English rock scene did was its so-called "blues" scene with Cream, Mayall, Fleetwood Mac, et al... that shit is DOA... fuck that noise... they killed off blues music

 

England last "got it right" (sort of) when "Tattoo You" was released

 

When it comes to rock n roll bands, The Beatles are universally considered the greatest band ever. There have been a plethora of great British rock bands that stand up to any that America have produced. It's not necessarily "doing it better", but for the size of the country the UK has had an abnormal amount of success and influence musically. It can't be denied.
