only seen maybe two episodes but I liked it... sort of a working-class, darker "Curb Your Enthusiasm"

It's definitely influenced by the whole Larry David experience, starting with "Seinfeld".

Completely unlikeable and irredeemable characters, not a single tad of sentimentality to be found.................and somehow, completely watchable.

    Described as "Seinfeld on crack".

More like PCP in my opinion.

That's what I like about it. I sorta enjoyed Scrubs, Modern family too but the schmaltz at the end always made me cringe. Why bother?

    None of that here.

Never heard of this show before.
    Never watched 'Seinfield'.
Never cared for 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'.

I'll keep watching 'The Big Bang Theory', thank you very much.

I would probably skip the first couple seasons if you are just getting into it.

It actually took a little while to find a good groove.

4 lower class slobs own a lower class bar in Philly.

Danny DeVito joined the cast in season 2 I believe, to serve as their benefactor / father figure / another degenerate influence.

They are mostly irredeemable and have misplaced egos (except for Charlie), but are sometimes loveable.

They are surrounded by a colorful cast of bit characters who serve as their pawns, victims and eventually their downfall.

They almost always get their comeuppance in the end, but never ever actually learn anything from it.
