    That's How REED Sees it...

Donaire Often Sits In the Pocket & ALLOWS his Opponent to Land First, While Throwing & LANDING his Own Power Shots in the Process...Against Rigondeaux, He'll Get BEATEN to the Punch All Night & Find Himself Coming Up EMPTY Offensively...Also, Rigondeaux's Shots will HURT More than Donaire is Accustomed to...We Could See Nonito Suffer a Flash Knockdown or 2...

Donaire has a Good Chance to Catch, HURT & Stop Rigondeaux During 1 of his Late Round LULLS, but it'll Be Rigodeaux's Fight Early Doors, in REED's Opinion...

Rigondeaux UD12 is a Solid Pick...8-4ish...But the QUALITY you Speak of is There (U Weren't being Hyperbolic @ All)...ANY Outcome is Possible...Early Rounds KO for Either Guy, WIDE UD for Donaire, Mid Rounds Stoppage Either Way...

Hopefully, There's a "Countdown" Show & All the Fixings...

This is my favorite matchup in the sport right now. I think Calzaghe vs Kessler was very similar in quality.

Wow Hut, what made you change your mind? I have the same feeling as your first sentiment each time I see him fight. He can obviously fight and is highly skilled, but I've never come away thinking he was THAT good. I'm somewhat confident Donaire beats him.

Angles, basically. He's got that old school ability to be in front of a guy but not quite be there, especially against orthodox fighters. It's nearly as impressive as Donaire's ability to stand in front of a guy and counter with bombs off of rolls. Real boxing. But i'd say his strengths play into Donaire's weaknesses since Nonito hates to lead and Rigo will make him. Could go either way but if it goes the distance i definitely think Rigodeaux gets it (though there's every chance I'll disagree with the scoring).

Yep, a Subtle, James ToneyESQUE Ability, that DOESN'T Exert a Lot of Energy...Rigondeaux's Got that Same CALMNESS Too, Whether In the Pocket or On the Perimeter...

He doesn't take a punch like Toney though. He'll probably have to pitch a perfect game here.

Not sure he has the length to both try to win and not get caught.

I'd say Broner is w/o a doubt the best pure talent in the sport right now. He's far more gifted than Riggo.

I tend to side more with Double here. Riggo is very well schooled, and not w/o talent, but his talent level is nothing special.

REED, Riggo isn't a FRACTION as talented as a prime Toney. Not even CLOSE!

I could see Riggo touching up Donaire down the middle with a straight lefts......... then getting caught in between with a check hook and getting his clock cleaned.

Rigondeaux is not as tough as toney was but his hands are faster and he hits harder with both hands. We will see how good donaires chin is and that is what the fight will come down to.

Rigondeaux can PUNCH, he's Got a Pretty Good "RADAR", ie., REFLEXIVE Defensive Ability & VERY GOOD Handspeed...

Again, REED Said Rigondeaux is ARGUABLY the Best PURE Talent...NOT Unquestionably...But Can YOU Name 5 Current Fighters w/MORE Talent???...If So, REED'll Think 2wice about his Assertion...If Not, his Point Stands...

Toney has some of the most UNDERRATED handspeed of all time.

JT wasn't very fleet of foot, but at 160-168 his hands were VERY quick.

    So I disagree with handspeed.

Power wise, you can argue Riggo's straight left is a single better weapon.

Other than that though, Toney was better at virtually every facet of the game.

Better chin, stamina, higher ring IQ, better in-fighting, more variety in his offense, ect.

Rigondeaux Hurts Guys EARLY in Fights, w/Single Shots...Lb for Lb, he's a HARDER Puncher than Toney, in REED's Opinion...

You're Spot-On about the CHIN Though...

To Date, Nonito has Been Able to WITHSTAND Enough of the Incoming, to INVEST in his Own Counters...He RELIES on Punch Resistance MORESO than Head Movement...REED Thinks Rigondeaux has ENOUGH Pop to Compromise this Facet of Donaire to Some Degree...The Question is, to WHAT Degree???...

If Donaire Fights Rigondeaux like he did Montiel (& Others w/More & More Frequency) he Might Not Get the Chance to Counter @ All...

I hope your scenario is right. I'm no Donaire fan. I hope Riggo beats the living shit outta him. BUT, I don't trust Riggo's chin at all after his last fight. All it would take is one well placed Donaire hook to put Riggo on his back.

No real point in debating the fight tooooo much though, cause the awesome thing is we're actually gonna find out for sure!

I'm rooting for Riggo all the way, but siding with Donaire.

Donaire is going to be a problem for Rigon.....Rigon is used to having the speed and power advantage...in this fight I think everything will be equal...Rigon might have the one/two punch speed advantage but in combination I think Donaire is faster. Donaire will also be able to keep up Rigon movement....

Toney has more talent than Rigondeaux? Fucking nonsense.

The chin question about Rigondeaux needs to be answered, but the guy is flooded with talent.
I don't think Rigondeaux is likely to get Donaire out early, but most other scenarios seem possible.

I know some of you have trouble remembering how something was perceived before it happened, but Calzaghe vs Kessler was two undefeated top 5 to top 10ish guys with solid reasons to pick either. Donaire's winning streak and resume make up for his loss and Rigondeaux's am credentials make up for his lacking pro resume. And right now they are top 5 to top 10ish guys. This fight is a superfight, imo, for boxing fans and may not get nearly the audience it deserves from the mainstream...another similarity to Calz vs Kessler.

Rigondeaux will have Better HANDSPEED for Sure, but Donaire will Be Stronger & ALOT Bigger...

Rigondeaux is SMALLish for 122, Whereas, Donaire is HUGE...Having Said that, Donaire will Be a BIGGER TARGET than Rigondeaux's Accustomed to & Rigondeaux's ALREADY ACCURATE as Hell...It's DOUBTFUL he'll have Difficulty Finding Donaire...

Another Factor is, Donaire's NEVER Been Keen on this Fight...Almost Seems as if it's Being FORCED Upon Him...Doesn't Mean he CAN'T Win Though...

Riggo isn't nearly as talented as Michael Nunn, the man Toney wore down and wacked.

Toney is one of the most "natural" fighters in the history of the sport. Riggo is more talented my ass!

That's where I'm at on this as well

I don't like his chances if he deviates from a real careful approach because I don't think he can take the kind of shots Donaire has in him if he gives him too many chances
