Andre Ward is already greater than Calzaghe.

Calzaghe could have been great, but he blew his career fighting bums.

Haha sure, by beating Calzaghes leftovers? Or Calzaghes leftovers leftovers? Or overrated weight-drained guys who don't like to fight? Sure

It's not even debatable. Manfredo might be one of Calzaghe's top 5 wins.

Face the fact, Ward's resume as a whole is already better than Calzaghe's.

    That's funny

He has Kessler, so does Joe (who laid the blueprint).

He has Froch, who lost to Kessler.

He has Dawson, who I've never rated and who was weight-drained anyway. So who else?

    Abraham? Miranda? Seriously?

Hopkins and Eubank are miles better than those two for a start. Plus it wasn't even a "prime" Miranda (he was shit to begin with) who Ward took on. Come on dude, you're reaching with those two

Not to mention ward dominate Kessler in a more one sided fight

It's not even debateable who's resume is better. It's Ward by a mile.

i still give calzaghe the edge, based on the number of his title defenses, and the fact that he retired unbeaten and actually had credible wins when he himself was old. having said that, i'm sure that ward will surpass calzaghe at some point.

Old ass Roy and Hopkins both dropped Calzaghe too. I have zero doubt that they both beat him if he would have fought either when they were not completely shot.

Calzaghe had talent, maybe he could have been a great fighter but he prefered fighting bums over bums. His legacy is basically Kessler plus an old Hopkins in a very close fight ( and please, don't give me Lacy, overhyped club fighter who never beat anyone worht a damn). Ward could retire tomorrow and still have a better career than him. Froch too, especially if he beats Kessler in the rematch.

Of course, Joe was himself 36 when he fought Hopkins, but we will ignore that. Oh, and the fact that Hopkins pulled a fight with Calzaghe in 2002. We'll ignore that too.

    Hopkins
    Kessler
    Lacy
    Eubanks
    Reid

Let's have it right. Neither of them have fabulous resumes. But when one of your best wins is a shot version of Miranda, your resume is fucking garbage.
