And the Starrie fight? I remember it was on a Tyson undercard and was one of the worst fights I've ever seen. Ever. And that includes a lot of crap. The fight was simply dreadful.

You have to be joking. Ward's fight with Kessler is most notable for some of the most blatant use of headbutts in recent years; it was hardly a boxing masterclass.

Starrie was a decent opponent and a bad style matchup with Joe. Similar fighters.

It's funny seeing the "arguments" those english/welsh clowns use for defending calzaghe. Now, for them, Froch is not that good of a win, since he lost an incredibly close fight against the best guy on calzaghe resume (wich was also a rather close fight). Shows that arguing with these buffoon is a waste of time.

For the record, Calz should have lost against Reid. Ward is way better and greater than him, and so is Froch

You don't think it somewhat detrimental to your argument that at the time you claim he was in his 'prime' (aged 37) he retired?

I spent about a decade hating that cunt. I hated him for winning his title against a shot Eubanks. I hated that I paid actual money to watch him fight Thomas Tate and ended up watching him fight some guy called Pudwill. I hated that he was an arrogant, thick Welsh cunt who hid behind Werren and pulled out of countless fights against Johnson. Hated him. When the Lacy fight was signed I literally prayed for him to get sparked the fuck out.

Calzaghe is a piece of shit coward who spunked away almost his entire career fighting utter chumps. But in the end I came to realise that he was an infuriatingly effective fighter who was hard as hell to beat. Sadly.

Oh, and someone said earlier that Calzaghe would have done a Bute as regards the Super Six. I have no doubt that he would have done. No doubt at all.

Yeah, there's no way Calzaghe takes all those tough fights at once.

 ' Calzaghe gave ward the blue print to beat Kessler.'

I saw no similarities between how the two beat Kessler.

The only guys favoring Calzaghe here are from the UK. That should tell you something.

Speaking strictly from a technical perspective, Calzaghe was clearly inferior. The way he'd square up, throw arm punches, leave his chin in the air. He sometimes looked like utter shit in there, even as he won the fight.

honestly Im not sure who wins between ward and calzaghe. i do know that ward has already accomplished at least as much in his career thus far and he'll probably far surpass calzaghe altogether in the next year or two

Many of my favorite fighters are not from the US. The UK fans have far more loyalty to their fighters.

I think Calzaghe would win a close one, but Ward is going to have a much better resumé.

I might pick Calzaghe. I was always a huge fan. I just think he is a very smart fighter and his speed would and awkwardness would help him win.
