Sam's Birthday today. Of all his deserved accolades, inspiring Sam Cooke to write this song is my favorite accomplishment of Bob Dylan.

Rob Halford? Excellent 6-octave range voice!

Priest were, at least pioneers of a rock-genre which isn't for everyone's tastes...but face it, cdogg...they're good at what they do.

What's that, then? Make shitty soundtracks for violent homosexual encounters?

Listening to Judas Priest is gayer than putting a penis in your mouth

This concert should be broadcast into outerspace on all frequencies, 24/7.

I'm not even a fan of them, but I would listen to the worst Talking Heads song ever for hours on end before I'd sit through a minute of Judas Priest or Iron Maiden

Yes it's an excellent, innovative show.
Makes everything today look...well, no, I can't say that because everything today IS shit.

They are the apex of everything. If Calzaghe got smart with David Byrne, Byrne would stun him with an inexplicable dance move then choke him to death with his bicycle chain.

'The Name Of This Band Is Talking Heads' is one of the greatest live-albums of all-time.

I have the same surname as David Byrne. They're ok though, I don't rate them anywhere near as highly as you do but they are decent.

Don't like that as much, personally. Stop making sense was definitely a better line up with those coked fiends from Parliament bringing the energy level/song pace up.

    Nah - no chance.
Not the band that cut 'Talking Heads: 77' or 'More Songs Buildings and Food' or 'Fear Of Music' and especially not 'Remain In Light'.

'The Name of This Band...' was their swan-song - the last great tour and resulting album from the classic lineup before they went all commercially -shit.
Plus, its a much better lineup: Bernie Worrell (ex: Funk/Parlia who you already mentioned) was already touring with them before 'Stop Making Sense', as was guitar-maestro Adrian Belew, Nona Hendryx, Busta "Cherry" Jones...classic, classic band.

'Stop Making Sense' hits the peak from a visual perspective. :nono:

I suspect not paying any attention to the names of people helps me actually listen to shit. If you can't hear that stop making sense is higher energy/faster pace there's no talking to you. But in any case, the visual aspect is extremely important. It's 50% of a live show, in fact.

Andrian Belew... weird, skillful, idiosyncratic guitarist who made for an outstanding sideman and an absolute menace of bad taste as a solo artist

Yeah, a fantastic tool to be set to work by somebody with taste. His solos on Remain in Light are easily my favourite ever
