Just coming here to start this thread. Fucking sucks. I like Gamboa, too. Or did. PEDs are the single worst thing in the sport and Gamboa should be out for 4 years, minimum, if substantiated. Not sure why you are surprised to see a tennis player listed?
Guess it's not really all that surprising, anytime money is involved you will find cheaters. It's just kind of funny to think of tennis players on 'roids. What's next? PED's in curling?
I think at this point, it's safe to say that all or nearly all of the sport's top fighters now use PEDs. an interesting question to think about is which fighters, say in the last 10 years, do people think definitely did NOT use PEDs? which ones definitely DID? I think Hopkins definitely did/does. Obviously, RJJ. Not sure about Trinidad - maybe he abstained and that's how he justified his loaded gloves? I'm not sure about ODH. His stamina seemed so shitty - it seems possible he was one of the few who did NOT. Toney? For sure. What about Lewis? Time for a new thread to speculate.
Just make PED's legal already. I don't care I just wanna be entertained by entertaining fights on a level playing field. Enough with this who can hide it better shit. Make the shit legal and fight !
Advocating to make PEDs legal is a complete failure to fully appreciate the sport and the risks its participants take or fully appreciating those things, but being a fool.
PEDs aren't necessarily steroids, but everything about tennis leads to potential benefits from PED use--healing from injuries, better stamina, quickness, power, reflexes...
Yeah and while we're at it, lets make what PED they're using part of the tale of the tape. Making PEDs legal is absolutely SHITTING on all the great fighters who fought back then that were NOT on that shit. As for Gamboa, I'm not surprised. So many fuckers are on the shit that its gotten ridiculous now.
Who can really say that the old timers weren't on steroids? It's not as if they didn't exist. Athletes and bodybuilders have been using steroids since the 40's. No testing existed until the mid 70's. So we're left with 3 decades of athletes that could very well have been using steroids and nobody will ever know about it.
It's not about who is on them and who isn't. It's about who knows how to hide it better. It's the reality and you guys should just accept it.

Nothing is going to happen to Gamboa. Nothing happened to Shane Mosley when the balco deal went down. He even admitted to using EPO for the second Oscar fight and it's still a win on his record.
