Maybe so---some things do set me off, but the guy hasn't even been buried and Karl is still prattling on about how he didn't believe him and nobody else did. "Trust me, folks". It just seemed in poor taste and REALLY poorly timed.

Anyone at any age can get that diagnosis and be dead within weeks. Scary.

 

I have a close relative in my hometown being moved to palliative care this week. It's late-stage esophageal cancer, and I don't want to say there's no hope, but there's nothing the doctors can do.

He's in his 50s, and up until last year he was big, strong (much stronger than me), and tough as nails (Lifelong construction worker and an intimidating bouncer in his youth).

I've seen it with other relatives. It's brutal.

 

Folks, I talked to Mike Rossman about this. He told me he's not an Oncologist. In short, folks, I'm a fat, vertically challenged, old moron with a stadium dome talking shit about a dead guy and I should probably just kill myself, folks.

 

It's the speed I find shocking than his age in this case. How can this happen within weeks?

 

They apparently found it in late November? Some cancers metastasize much quicker than others.

 

Now he's full of embalming fluid.

He was a brave lad who loved boxing and was a good student who had more courage in his little finger than some of these clowns will ever know.

 

I know what you mean, TKO. I'm 40---soon to be 41, and the thought of facing something like that at 25 is horrific. It's horrific at any age, but at 25 you're starting to really settle into being a man. It's a horrible tragedy and my thoughts are with his family. It's a damn shame---so young and not given a chance to have the experiences that most of us get to have.

 

Being a fighter doesn't necessarily make you a 'hero' either.

Or courageous.
