This is just going to end brutally for Rees, IMO. He has no advantages whatsoever in this matchup. He has experience and heart and will be determined, but he's just coming up against someone younger, fresher, and just simply, much much better. Still, I'm looking forward to this greatly! :shadow:

Based on what I've seen from Rees, Broner will end the fight basically any time he pleases.

This will be an absolute slaughter. I like Rees; he's game and durable and makes a lot of his limited ability but he's not a world class fighter, as Kotelnik proved conclusively when he took Rees apart. This will be much worse.

REED's Never Seen Rees Fight, & Based on what the Euro Faction is Saying, there's No LOGICAL Reason REED SHOULD've Seen him Fight, to this Stage of his Career...

Is Rees' Attack IMAGINATIVE Enough to Where he Could CONCEIVABLY Land a HARD, FIGHT CHANGING Shot on Broner's Chin???...Broner's Chin has YET to Fail him in the Least, from what REED's Seen, but his WHISKERS have Never Really been TESTED Either....

No. Rees hasn't got that kind of power that could change the fight. He's like a little terrier who brings energy and determination to the table. He'll take on Broner center ring, but he'll leave himself open to Broner's left hand and right counters time after time. Once Rees feels Broner's power after being hit to the body a few times early he'll soon realize what he's up against, but, he won't stop trying.

I guess they're using this to build Broner-Gamboa for later this year? :dunno:

Broner is one helluva fighter, one of the best I've seen for the last 10 years or so.

Reminds me a bit of Zab Judah when he was on top in terms of power and athleticism and can knock you dead.

I hope this is a tough fight for him and he can be tested a bit.

I pick Adrian as one of the best fighters in the world, top 3.

Rees is a former world champion/belt holder, winning the WBA 140lb strap in an entertaining upset against M'Baye in 2007. His first defence was against Kotelnik and he got taken apart (despite some hilariously biased home commentary which had the fight even going into the last round) and stopped in the last round, by which time he was a bloody, battered mess. Both of those fights will be on youtube somewhere and are worth watching; they were good fights. Since then he has rebuilt and hasn't lost, beating Derry Matthews by stoppage last time out. His loss to Kotelnik is still his only defeat.

Jimmy has him pegged about right. Rees is very game and brave and will come forward from the off, looking to force the action. Unfortunately for him he doesn't have any power to speak of and isn't especially quick or smart so he has absolutely no advantages in this fight at all. That Kotelnik, a skilled, technical counterpuncher hardly known for the power of his shots or his aggression, was able to stop Rees speaks volumes about Rees' ability at world level. If he beats Broner it would be a massive, massive shock. He will give his all and make the fight fan-friendly, as he always does, but I can't see him lasting more than seven rounds before he is either sparked out or is stopped on his feet mercifully by the referee.

Rees needs to get at Broner from the first bell and needs to try and rough him up. I very much doubt if he has a solution to the problem.

Mayweather/Chavez & Jones/Woods come to mind. Rees' corner will probably stop it in the middle rounds & Rees will be relieved.

Sad thing is, Broner will gain in the rankings based on his win over Rees, thereby vindicating his and every other fighter's relucatance to take on top competition and desire for show cases.

REEDs right actually - Broner is pretty likeable. He's kinda annoying but he's got charm & seems like a decent guy under the talk.

I just hope that is the next fight for both guys. If it was Glasgow, what venue would it be in?
