Big hit indeed since that fight was guaranteed fireworks. Too bad they can't throw Robbie Lawler in there against Condit

It sucks for sure, but replacing Rory with Johnny Hendricks keeps this a good card. Now hopefully they will fill Hendricks' spot against Ellenberger with either Maia or Stun Gun to keep this a great card.

It would be cool to see Maia against another top notch wrestler.

to me it didn't really took a hit. Rory is a major talent, but he's kind of irrevelant to me right now since he said he won't fight GSP ( at least, that's what I heard ). I don't want another Klitshko reign, were both rules ( unofficialy in Rory case ) only half of a division.

Let's say Rory wasn't injured and that he defeats Condit while Hendricks is upset by Ellenberger. That would mean there would be basically no one, save maybe Maia, for GSP to fight in a meaningful fight if he defeats Diaz. yes I know, there's a lot of if in that scenario, but it's far from far fetched imo

It's a little early to be calling 'Klitschko reign', don'tcha think? One streak has been going on the better part of a decade; the other hasn't even started and is in a sport where long, undefeated streaks and avoidances in the same weight class are extremely rare.

Well I didn't get one of my choice opponents for Ellenberger but this will do.

    GSP-Diaz
    Condit-Hendricks
    Ellenberger-Marquardt

That's a good point. I don't want Rory in the #1 contender spot and then never fight GSP. It's a waste.

I think they will fight if they have to. They don't seem that close to me. Not like Cain and Cormier where they train together every single day and hang out all the time.

Gotta give credit to Hendricks. The guy pretty much has his shot in the bag and fights someone as dangerous as Condit.

There was never any guarantee that he was getting a shot any time soon. Condit is going to beat him.

Agreed. Condit is just better. Hendricks has become a bit overrated I think in my mind. I'd be surprised if he beat anyone as good as Condit or Rory, let alone Joosp.

Imagine if Hedricks takes out Condit with a left hand in like 30 seconds.

But it kinda shows that winning alone won't guarantee you a job with the ufc. Fucking guy was 14-3-1 with the ufc and gets cut!

Hendricks is just one of those guys who does nothing good, he's just alright everywhere. If he didn't have one punch KO power he would be very average. Condit is a far better striker than Hendricks and has far better stamina than Hendricks. I think Condit will stay outside and peck at him for a couple rounds before dominating and stopping him late.

I'm not laughing, I think it sucks. As a fan, okay whatever, I don't look forward to Fitch fights, but I do appreciate mma being a sport and not entertainment.
Cutting Fitch indicates the UFC treats the sport as entertainment first and not as a sport first.

Do I blame them? Sort of, but not really. The UFC doesn't exactly hide what it is and isn't.

I'd say the UFC treats MMA as a business first, not as a sport. And fighters like Fitch, talented as they may be, are bad for business.

fitch is boring, but i'm not sure why he was cut. shit, the guy always fought on the main cards and he doesn't even get a chance to get dropped to preliminary cards.

If Fitch goes to Bellator and fights Askren, the fight will look a lot like this....

Agreed. As everyone else, I'm not a Fitch fan, but he's a good, solid fighter with a very good UFC record. Dropping him is bizarre. Just drop him to prelims and cut his pay or something.
