    I agree. I see similarities. I listed them. But 1. claiming there are basically the same character and 2. claiming there are no similarities is lazy film watching. I listed the similarities. Both are German and both were clever. That is where it stops.

    The Jew Killer was absolutely a wolf in sheeps clothing. Remember the party at the end of Bastards where he blended right in and nobody would have taken him for a killer. And even when he approached his victims (the farmer at the begining, the woman he choked) he always started out
    with light easy going conversation like he was the nicest guy in the world to get his victims defenses down. Wearing a Nazi suit doesn't necessarily make you a wolf. If he was the kind of guy who went in yelling with threats then he wouldn't be a sheep in wolf's clothing, he'd just be a wolf.

    Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the characters were the same because I haven't seen the film yet, but I do feel that the Jew Hunter was definitely a wolf in sheeps clothing.

    Wow you are way off. The farmers in the beginning for Fucking scared shitless. That is why they were hiding. The party at the end, it was the Basterds in disguise so as to not get noticed by the Jew Hunter and the rest of the Nazi's because if they found out, they would be dead.

    I cant believe i have to explain this to adults.

    Let's be clear. Some of you have called Landa a sheep in wolf's clothing (the man wore a fucking Nazi uniform and was known as a Jew Hunter ) People were scared shitless of him. People HID for their lives when he came around. And even while hiding,they were shitting their pants, because they KNEW he always found a way to find them. And when he found them he had them brutally killed. And he slept fine.

    The Django role was different. He WAS pretending to be something he wasnt in order to gain access. He was a bounty hunter who was about money. One of Waltz' greatest personality traits in Django was his sympathy and compassion for Django and his wife. You could see it in his eyes. Landa's role never had this compasion and you always knew he gonna strike at any moment. A German accent and a clever mind is where the similarities begin and end.

    The wolf in sheep thing wasn't for the clothing but about his behavior he was overly polite and still a ruthless killer. That is basically what made the character so compelling. Of course jews would be afraid of a Nazi uniform, thx captain obvious, but that wasn't the point.

    They Ray-Django Comparison is still the most foolish thing mentioned in this thread, and if you think it being clever and a german accent is the only thing similar in Waltz' roles then I guess we have to disagree.


    You see no other similarities besides this like for instance his over the top sophisticated smart-ass style of explaining things to make the counterpart look dumb, yet always keeping a smile on his face. Landa does this with the jew and Schulz does it with Django. Two totally different situations of course but the way Waltz is doing it is very similar in my eyes.
