He has a chance, but I'm picking Machida. I think he's too fast and too skilled for Hendo to catch him. The first prelim is on Facebook now. Great fight so far.
i saw on sherdog that most fighters are picking hendo. stylistically, machida's a bad match up, but i guess hendo still has a lot of folks believing in his right hand. i think machida's going to win rather easily. also, i'm actually looking forward to rousey's ufc debut.
Personally I think Hendo is going to look very old for the first time. He is too old to miss a full year of fighting and comeback against an elusive guy like Machida. That being said, nothing would shock me when Henderson's involved. Even at his advanced age he still finds a way to quickly close distance and land the right hand. I think he will look to go Greco-Roman and clinch on the cage as often as possible. If he can do that and dirty box, it will be interesting. As far as the main event goes, I think Rousey will win, but I couldn't resist putting money on Carmouche at +650.
Hendo would have problems dealing with Lyoto's style if he was in his prime. Nobody can take Machida down and hold him down (except Jon Jones, and Hendo's wrestling isn't on that level). Machida's striking is better than Hendo's at any point in his career. Anything can happen in a fight, but I'd bet on Machida if I was betting.
I agree, I expect Hendo to look his age and lose a clear cut UD. Injuries and inactivites are not a good mix when you get over 40. As for the main event, I never seen either of them fight but just looking at the weight in, I can pretty much gurantee that you lost your money. Rousey looks to have a good 10 lbs on Carmouche if not more.
I'm not a huge fan of women's MMA, but Rousey is worth watching. You could watch all of her pro fights in a few minutes. She hasn't really been tested yet, but I don't think Liz can stop her from getting the early submission.
I'm hoping Robbie Lawlor can get another win in the UFC. I meant the Bermudez / Grice fight is a candidate for FOTY. Schaub / Johnson was a letdown.
close borign round, I would favor Hendo just because of the big right hand he landed and that MAchida was far too negative
I disagree with Rogan, I think the fight is a coin toss has far as scoring goes. Sure Machida landed the better strike but the agression and workrate is all Hendo
Henderson looked terrible tonight, chasing Machida around throwing right hand after right hand and missing them all by a mile. Meanwhile, Machida was tagging him a bunch of times. Other than the takedown that he did nothing with after, Henderson did nothing to deserve winning any of the rounds. TFK
