Rewatched this classic again. Is been like 10 years since the last time I watched it. My children watched it for the first time and it really kept them on tension. I refused to give spoilers so they reacted the same way as audiences did in 1975. It still remains an effective film regardless if the mechanical shark doesn't look convincing in the close-ups. What I didn't like was the lousy 'special edition' cgi 'treats' that kind of ruined the experience for me. At least they weren't that many nor were Lucas-like alterations. 9.5

 

It was a bad film for sharks and loaded with bad science

but as a movie, it's terrific... a classic

Everytime this movie comes on TV, I have to watch it...or as much as is being shown.

I think that all sharks should be hunted down, killed, capture a few for the aquariums and allow the seas to be freed from these marine terrorists.
