The main card starts at 10PM Est on Fuel. This is a great card for Fuel TV. No matter how much you'd like to slam it for not having any current #1 contenders or champions, the main card is solid from top to bottom. Silva-Stann is a can't miss slugfest. With Struve-Hunt, you match 2 of the hottest HW's in the world. Gomi-Sanchez is another match up of two guys that love to bomb but are tough as hell to knock out. Diego hasn't been in a fight that didn't win FOTN since 2008. Lombard-Okami could end up being a mismatch, but the fun part is it could end up being a mismatch in either direction. Great card indeed. Way too good for a FUEL card. They should have made this a fox card but having said that I think the two main fights mind end up mismatches. Silva's chin is glass and I think Stann might do to him what Leben did and even though Im hoping Hunt to KO Struve , Struve might end this one very fast with a submisstion.
sanchez didnt make weight. he might look sluggish considering he hasn't fought in a while. i'd still think he whups gomi. anyways, this is a ppv worthy card imo. looking forward to it.
Great card for Fuel. I'm going to the track tonight, but I'm DVRing it and will probably watch it as soon as I get home. TFK
disagree on this one. Sure it's a fun card, but alot of the guy's are barely relevant anymore and most fights figures to be mismatch.
You guys are going a little thick on the syrup. It's a good card full of good matchups, but is there even one top 5 guy? Maybe Lombard. (edit: yeah, what Azazel said)
A card doesn't have to be full of top ranked fighters to still be a good card. The only legit contender on the card is Lombard, but the top 4 fights should be really fun. You know Wandy is gonna KO or be KO'd. You know Hunt will be trying to finish Struve from the opening bell. You know Lombard wants to win impressively to put him in title contention. And Diaz\Gomi has just got to be a balls out fight. I like this card a lot better than the GSP\Diaz PPV. TFK
This is a great card no matter how you slice it. Fans that only really follow front-runners wouldn't see the value of this card.
they should've billed it the Demise of Pride. it's highly likely that hunt, silva, and gomi will all lose in a devastating fashion.
Maybe, but the fun thing about this card is that each of them almost invariably goes down swinging. it's funny but in an interview after the weigh in, Wandy talked about how his strategy would be to get the fight to the ground. I laughed. Who is he trying to fool?
It's a very good card, jus not for a PPV because there's no name value on it save for a very faded Silva
The fight will end up on the ground alright. At least for one of them when they are laying there unconscious. TFK
Lombard needs to work on his stamina. I think Bellator spoiled him and he thinks he will KO everyone when he feels like it.
i thought gomi beat sanchez. close fight tho. okami is a big ass middleweight. lombard should've started faster and he would've won.
HUNTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO damn what a fight. But they should just stop interviewing him after the fight, he basically only answer with a yes or no. Still, one of my favorite fighter rever, funny how everyone blasted Fedor for fighting him when Hunt was in his prime yet he's now arguably the number 1 contender in the UFC (you'd need one hell of an arguement to put him over Werdum though )
FUCK! I'm watching Struve vs Hunt and it's a great fight and then after round 2 my laptop turns off. I come back and read that Hunto ko'ed him! Damn !! Too bad I missed it!! Hunt was doing great in that fight. Struve has great subs and Mark Hunt is a beast. 4-1 in the UFC this guy needs a title shot! Go Hunt!!!!
yep, I can't believe he's fighting this way vs a big puncher like Stan after having suffered a couple of bad one punch ko loss recently
Silva turned back the clock on this one. Great, great finish. Didn't expect him to win this one at all. But Stann really exposed his limitation in the stand up ( bad for someone with no ground game ) as he really had trouble with Silva movement.
