who are the worst examples of boxers who were at some point rated #1 p4p in the world? i.e. considering them when they were actually p4p#1, not when they were over the hill. when all the p4p#1s of all time are themselves ranked p4p then SRR, duran, calzaghe et al come at the top - but who are the guys at the bottom?

Tito and Mosley were both bogus choices though, because Roy was clearly the best those years.

Trinidad or Mosley would be up there

If Calzaghe were ever p4p #1, that would be worse than either of those guys being there

Well fag considering Trinidad was at his best weight at 154....yeah I guess so....but TITO is a LEGEND who challenge himself...never duck avoided anyone....

while Calzaghe kept himself MILES away from el boogeyman ROY JONES jr....Tito was talking crazy about moving up and fighting Calzaghe's and Michalshitsky's worst nightmare...

Calzaghe never "killed" anyone with even a moderate skill level... he'd beat Trinidad simply because he is much bigger, not because he is any better

Tommy Hearns would have knocked Calzaghe out and mounted him in ring center

If Calz was ever considered P4P #1, then it's him.

Until Hopkins stomped his ass out, Roy, Tito, and Shane were universally considered the P4P top 3. In REALITY, Jones was still the best fighter in the world, but people were tired of his comp, so many believed based on recent achievements that Tito deserved the P4P title. Shane was of course heavily in the discussion as well.

P4P is all subjective anyway. IMO Jones was the best fighter in the world until Tarver knocked him off. At which point, it came down to Hopkins and Floyd. Once Taylor beat Hopkins in 05, Floyd's been considered #1 since.

I had it as Floyd the moment Tarver landed that shot. I couldn't see any way Hopkins could have been placed over Mayweather. Tito was definitely considered p4p#1 by a lot of publications prior to the Hopkins loss though, I remember reading a Ring Magazine article which said Tito would overcome Roy with his "underrated jab" on his way to a unanimous decision

Without the magic wraps, Tito was closer to P4P #100, like Plasterito
