It doesnt suck, he just neglect's it IMO. Diaz had NO answers for GSP on the ground. And someone with the hype around Diaz' BJJ should have done something. But i doubt he trained too much BJJ for this fight. He wanted to box. That is all he cared about. Boxing.
GSP is so political. GSP beat Diaz in boxing too. This sucks tho. I wish Diaz would have done so much better.
surprise surpries, all the hate was bullshit hype to sell the fight, can't believe so many people still gets caught in this
I watch so little MMA these days. This was why Diaz didn't try to win and GSP didn't want to hurt Diaz. Boring zzzzzzzzzzzzz
How many fights with trash talk are real? Morales-Barrera and Cotto-Margarito are about the only times that i can think of that was real hatred.
Nick diaz doesnt play hype. But he respects you after the fight. After people fight, shit is usually squashed.
The smack talk in this fight was about as real as it gets. Nick was still taking small shots. Slightly insinuating GSP had a spy in his camp and that GSP was holding him for 2 rounds.
I can't believe Nick didn't do more standing. GSP even got the better of the standup for the most part. Was he just weary of getting taken down again or what?
I know, I'm just stunned at how easilly people are fool constantly. The GSP hate for Diaz was as fake as it comes yet it fooled a whole lot of people
This is why Bisping-Rivera is the only real fyewd in UFC history. Rivera was insulting Bisping's kids and shit.
Check out Melvin Guillard and Rich Clementi. That was real hatred. Nothing was squashed after Clementi tapped him out.
Didn't see the card, first UFC I didn't watch in forever. But it looks like the main event was everything I expected. GSP has become the Floyd Mayweather of MMA. Sleep inducing dominance. Glad he beat Diaz though. I heard Diaz is already crying about retiring again, like I hoped. Lets hope he is serious this time. If not, maybe we'll see him in WSOF after he fails his post fight drug test. TFK
DISAPPOINTING "Effort" From Diaz, to Say the Least...In his Own Pouting, Shit Talking, Rebellious Way, he Fought to SURVIVE...NEVER Really Applied Much Pressure on GSP When they were Standing & was 90% DEFENSIVE when On the Ground... @ No Point Did Diaz Appear to Be Trying to WIN the Fight, in REED's Opinion...Typical GSP Title Defense... REED Thought Condit WON the Fight or Deserved a DRAW @ Worst...Hendricks Clearly Won the 1st Round, but REED Gave Condit 2 & 3...Had it Been a 5 Rounder, Condit Just Might have STOPPED Hendricks...Hendricks was Steadily FADING as the Fight Progressed...Hendricks' Left Hand is LEGIT, but that's All he Has...That & his Takedowns, that Is... UNLIKE Nick Diaz, Condit was OFFENSIVE from his Back...& While REED Understands why Guys Get Points for Takedowns, Guys Should ALSO Get Points for RETURNING To Their Feet...Yes, Hendricks Repeatedly Took Condit Down, but Condit REPEATEDLY Got Back to his Feet... Hendricks' Only Chance to Beat GSP is to Land a Big Left Hand in the 1st Round...Otherwise, GSP Beats him even EASIER than he Beat Diaz... REED:mj:
The levels of effort it takes to get back up are so different. Some people even let the other guy stand up others try everything to prevent it. Some are taken down center ring, some at the cage. Well maybe it does give points, you know the judges try to take everything into account anyways if a guy gets up quickly it ain't that bad, but if he is gnped for 3 minutes before getting up that should give you less points. And I think getting someone down is a bigger thing offense-wise than getting up, USUALLY...
Kind of shocked to hear a different opinion about Condit-Hendricks. I thought it was a great fight, but it looked to me like Hendricks definitely won it. But Condit's effort last night and his effort against GSP point to huge differences between him and Nick Diaz. Despite getting hurt and despite being taken down over and over, Condit kept trying to inflict damage until the final bell. Meanwhile, Diaz was so afraid of being put on his back that he didn't let his hands go when he had the multiple chances. Personally I will be looking forward to Hendricks-GSP. It seems Hendricks has the ability to close distance quickly and land the left hand even when you know it's coming. If you don't have Condit's amazing chin, you're probably getting knocked out.
Sleep inducing dominance isn't quite the same as boring. Personally I don't find anything boring about a guy demonstrating that he is clearly better than all others at his weight. GSP continues to do it and it is thrilling to watch him out-class challenger after challenger.
Yeah i didnt find it boring at all. GSP was working on the ground. But Diaz was holding GSP's wrist which makes it very dificult. But GSP did fine.
FUN Fight for Sure, but REED Thought Condit Won or Deserved a DRAW... 1st Round was ALL Hendricks, Clearly...Condit's REACTION to Those Early Bombs Tells You All You Need to Know about Hendricks' POWER...If there's a Lb for Lb 1 Punch Power MMA List, Hendricks is Definitely On it... But by the 2nd Round, Condit was Standing w/Hendricks on EVEN Terms, in REED's Opinion...Landed Some Knees & Punches of his Own...& When he was Taken to the Ground, he'd Either OUTWORK Hendricks from his Back &/Or REGAIN his Feet... Hendricks was CLEARLY Fading in the 3rd...He'd Lost ALL of the Zip on his Punches & was Taking Condit Down Seemingly as a SURVIVAL or CLOCK KILLING Technique...But Again, Condit Continued to Outwork him from Bottom & Regain his Footing...Had this Been a 5 Instead of a 3 Rounder, Condit Would've STOPPED Hendricks in REED's Opinion... Unlike GSP, who Takes a Guy Down & WORKS, Hendricks was Taking Condit Down & Buying Time...Or So REED Thought...Damn GOOD Fight...Should Be a RE Down the Road... REED:fightme:
I thought Condit won too, depends how much stock you put on takedowns. I'm sick of wrestlers, I wish Condit had got the decision.
Normally I agree that judges give too much credit to takedowns. But I thought Hendricks slammed Condit down pretty good a couple times. They were emphatic enough to score some points. Just thought Hendricks did a great job of taking the play away every time Condit started to get some offense going. But again, my golden rule for scoring MMA, is to ask who I would rather have been in the fight. It kind of discounts scoring by round, but Hendricks clearly did more damage.
