Dana: GSP vs Hendricks is in doubt, GSP vs Anderson could be next instead

    Dana noted St-Pierre would have the option to choose whether he would rather take a superfight with Anderson Silva, which would probably be the more lucrative option, or a welterweight title defense against Johny Hendricks. No matter what St-Pierre wants to do, the trigger isn't going to be pulled until July, since Silva first has to defend his middleweight title against Chris Weidman.

    Weidman and Silva are set to face one another at UFC 162 on July 6th in Las Vegas, Nevada.

    "If Georges wants to fight Anderson Silva, we're not going to tell him `No, you have to fight Johny Hendricks,'" White said.

    White seemed to indicate if it was up to him and he could make the St-Pierre vs. Silva fight, St-Pierre would not vacate the title. He also noted win or lose against Silva, GSP would then go back to defending the welterweight belt.

    I really don't have an interest in a GSP\Silva fight, especially if it's gonna be a one shot deal.

    GSP said himself if he bulks up to 185 he's never coming back to 170. I'm betting he will fight Hendricks.

    I agree, I think at his age, with his style, vs a strong wrestler like Weidman, Silva is in a lot of trouble

    Nope. It's a mismatch. Anyone who thinks GSP can move up to 185 and beat arguably the best P4P fighter in the history of the sport is deluding themselves.

    Yep. GSP is a smart guy. While it doesn't mean he's afraid of Hendricks, he knows the risk/reward ratio is shitty with Hendricks and far better with Silva.

    Hendricks is an easy fight for GSP. But it doesnt nothing to enhance GSP's legacy. and GSP knows this. GSP has gone on record stating that he wants to be considered the best of all time.

    There is no way Hendricks is an easy fight for GSP. Even if GSP can be dominate with his wrestling, he still doesn't finish anyone which means he's gotta go 25 minutes with the power of Hendricks. GSP might clearly win, but it won't be easy.

    I think he takes anderson silva down and holds him there the majority of the fight.

    While he might be able to take Silva down, he's not strong enough to keep him there. Anderson is bigger, stronger and just better than GSP. It's a mismatch.

    serra was hardly fat in that fight. He was in the best shape i have seen him in years.
