With foot stomps being legal in MMA, it really isn't a bad idea, just to see how he'd react mentally. This is a nasty injury, and if a fighter goes right after it, who knows how he would react. TFK
Holy shit. I didn't realize it was that bad. I think the fight would have been stopped in the corner. No doctor is going to let a guy fight with that type of injury. Hell, it could have come off or ended up hanging by a thread. Just what the UFC wants. Not.
The fight would have been stopped for sure had the round ended. Thank god Jones didn't let that happen or we'd have months of listening to Chael talk about how he "beat" Jon Jones.
Yeah, no doctor in his right mind would let a fight continue if there's a compound fracture. Anytime a bone is protruding thru the skin, that shit needs immediate attention. A dude on my flag football team did the same thing to his pinky finger and taped it up and kept playing. He got a staph infection so bad that he ended up in the hospital for a couple weeks.

That is what i said earlier. Had Chael survived, he would be champ right now. There is talk out there that Herb Dean actually saw the toe and stopped it a little early due to that outcome. If that is true, i commend Dean for that. No way Chael was going to do anything different and having him be the champ out of a stoppage would just delay many things in the ufc.
What's REALLY Amazing is Jones DIDN'T Seem to Notice the Toe @ All, Until his Post Fight Interview w/Rogan...Immediately After Dean Stopped it, Jones Got Up, Walked NORMALLY Over to his Corner & Hugged his Guys...There was NO Indication Whatsoever, that his Big Toe was in Danger of Falling Completely Off... Even DURING the Fight, there WASN'T a Single Moment where Jones Looked to Be Favoring, Noticing or even ACKNOWLEDGING his Big Toe.... REED:dunno:

His toe is dislocated and almost certainly broken, as well. Where is the blood coming from? When you dislocate fingers, you usually break off a tip of the bone closer to your hand. I am assuming toes are similar. When I've dislocated fingers, they fucking buzz in your head and hurt right away. Your natural inclination is to grab them and straighten them back out. I don't know how Jones avoided reacting to it. Adrenaline is the guess, I reluctantly suppose, but how often have you seen fighters not notice injuries like that? For me, never before.
