I agree with that, I think Floyd's career would have been much better had Castillo got the decision.

Floyd has avoided Paquiao like a plague. That is the truth, the only truth and nothing but the truth. Look at Pac. He has fought his toughest opponent four times. Does that look like a man that would avoid Floyd?

You guys know boxing. I would never, ever suggest I can break down a boxing matchup better than you guys.

But there are blatant gaps in your understanding of how boxing operates on the business end these days. It's not as simple as you guys are making it.

There was never a real push by either side to make the fight. The incentive wasn't there. It goes wayyy deeper than silly shit like fear.

    What's there to Learn???...

Floyd-Pac was All but Signed, when Floyd Introduced Random, Olympic Styled Testing into the Fray....Something even the NSAC Hadn't Rendered Up to that Point...

The Mere FACT that Floyd Brought UNPRECEDENTED Testing Methods Into the Mix Proves he was SPOOKED by Pacquiao...Back in those Days it was "Legacy DON'T Pay Bills", Oh, but NOW, he Wants to Secure his Legacy...

For What it's Worth, REED Thinks Pacquiao WAS using PED's....By No Means is Pac Above & Beyond Reproach...If REED were to Place Blame on the Fight NOT Happening, Floyd would Get 75-80% of It, If Not MORE...

How was I ignoring your post? Your post claims I was conned because you put forward a buck-load of speculation disguised as fact. How can I have been conned when I have paid precisely fuck all to watch Mayweather fight no-one of note?

You are paying the best fighter of our generation to fight stooges like ghost. Yet I am being conned.

EDIT: Who said anything about fear? Doggy asked who should Money fight. I said Manny.

Yes at 130 pounds... At 144 or whatever the fuck it was, JMM lost 12-0 to Mayweather and then quite a while later was a Pac opponent there (even scoring a KO) ... Again, I can only reference how completely opposite the reaction to this would be if Floyd and Pac were reversed

I'm not even defending him, I'm being objective

You guys place a halo atop Pac's head and dismiss every fight Floyd has had while conveniently ignoring that Mayweather had whupped most of these guys first... it's nonsensical... if you want to hate on BOTH of them for failing to make the fight, have at it, they deserve the hate... but this cherry-picking between them is dishonest bullshit

I'm not putting a dime in either of these yahoos pockets

Man, I'm not saying Floyd wanted the fight. He gets tons of blame. I take issue with the idea Pacquiao (and his team) are these innocent, honest guys who just wanted to fight. It's horseshit.

In THAT Sense, REED Doesn't Think Floyd wouldn't Even GRANT an Immediate Post-Fight Interview OR Attend the Post-Fight Press Conference...He'd Be Tooooo DEVASTATED & All of his Yes-Men Would Be Struggling to Put his Pieces Back Together Again...

Off topic but does it annoy anyone else when Floyd uses that "44 have tried, and 44 have failed" line, purely because it's mathematically incorrect? I know "43 have tried, 43 have failed...and one guy failed twice" doesn't have the same ring to it, but it just bugs me

    50/50. Neither side wanted it.

Just think about it. We'll use this weekend as as example.

Floyd was guaranteed 32-million. Ghost 3-million. Right off the bat, you need another 29-millions dollars for a 50/50 split. Then, being generous here, you need another 20-million to give them both more than they normally have guaranteed. So an extra 49-million guaranteed to the fighters on a 50-50 split and for them to get more money than normal.

But even then, one side loses the cloak ofinvincibility. That might hurt at the box office in later fights. Is an extra 10-mill worth it when both sides can go for guaranteed wins?

The reality is, Top Rank was ALWAYS quick to walk away from the table. Always happy to play hard ball.

Both sides had (have) a massive hussle going on.

I disagree... I think he has, at best, a slightly bigger slice because he opened the floodgates with the extra testing stuff... after that, it is a bunch of bullshit from both sides

In 2009, Floyd was (rightly) criticised for being 'the champion' at 147 despite having fought none of Cotto, Williams and Margacheato. They were the names at 147 bar Mayweather, yes? :dunno: Manny fought Cotto when Floyd wouldn't touch him and murdered him. Everyone was shocked by how easily he handled him. He butchered the cheat after Mayweather wanted nothing to do with him. JMM was NOTHING at that point; at 144 everyone criticised Mayweather for a complete mismatch.

It has nothing to do with halos. It is to do with not rewriting history. Pac was a 5-1 dog against De La Hoya; this entire board though it a mismatch. He was a dog against Cotto, and Marg here too. Mayweather was 10-1 on against two of his last three opponents.

Pac beat those guys after each had already taken significant beatings from other guys... Again, if Floyd fought those guys at the same junctures, I highly doubt you'd be crowing about how amazing it is... "He butchered the cheat after Mayweather wanted nothing to do with him" ... No, he butchered the cheat after the cheat had been butchered almost TWO YEARS EARLIER by the same guy who in HIS NEXT FIGHT lost basically 11-1 to Floyd Mayweather (who Pac, of course, fought a good year or more later)

I'd love to see the odds on Pac/Margarito, I find it laughable that he would have been an underdog in that fight... He was 5-1 to Hoya because people did not understand how hopelessly shot Hoya was (the fight against STEVE FORBES should have been enough to make it understood) ... I'm pretty sure Mayweather was an underdog against Hoya as well ... this is all totally immaterial... Odds are determined by a lot of things, some of them useful, some of them fantasy

It's Only a STATE Level, but REED is Fully Aware of how the BUSINESS of Boxing Goes, Bro...

What YOU'RE Saying is, Both Guys were Making BOATLOADS of Money Facing 2nd Tier Welters, so WHY Face One Another....Pacquiao did that Just as Much as Floyd, but when it Came to NUT CUTTING Time, REED Always Got the Impression Pacquiao WOULD'VE Taken the Fight...This is a Guy who Rematched his TOUGHEST Opponent 3 Different Times, Even AFTER he No Looooonger HAD to from a BUSINESS Standpoint...

REED's Point is, Pac was Always More GENUINELY WILLING to Take the Fight, than Floyd was...Sure, he Continued to Face 2nd Tier Guys, but REED Got the Impression Pac WOULD'VE Fought Floyd...

Floyd's the 1 that Introduced Olympic Styled Testing...That CAN'T Be Glossed Over, Bro...To His Eyes, there was Something UNNATURAL about the way Pac Wiped his Ass w/Dela & Hatton...w/out THAT, Floyd-Pac Happens...
