Well if that's the case i see Showtime pressuring Floyd to fight Canelo.

that's what I'm thinking too. That this PPV had disapointing sell can only be a good thing. It means Showtime will probably not allowed Floyd to fight another underwhelming opponent

I guess the question is, how far did Showtime go to poach Mayweather from HBO? How much pull do they have?

yeah, that's what I'm worrying about. But I can't believe they would have so retarded as to give Floyd (nearly) freeway with his choice of opponents

I would say I smell Mayweather vs. Bradley(if he beat Marquez) but i keep forgetting TR and Arum....it would be a good matchup...

I guess it will be Alexander, Ortiz Rematch?, Cotto rematch?, Rios(if he ko's Pac)....

Rios is Top Rank too. So no.

I'm thinking it'll probably be whoever comes out of the mini Garcia vs. Matthyse/Patterson tournament.

140/154 is stacked...not much at 147....it fucking sucks looking at that list...Khan might just be next...I rather him than Alexander. Khan will be fucking terrified but the KO or him getting dominated is worth a watch. Alexander will be running the whole fight...throwing a scared jab...

The guys at 154 is interesting yeah some are limited as fuck(Kirkland/Angulo) but I think their physical brute force can make it interesting...

Thurman can talk a good game but is unknown... Orozco is mejican but unknown....quillin is a fucking Middleweight and unknown....Broner is mini Floyd....Peterson is shit and unknown..Malignaggi talk a good game but Broner will deal him out...

Garcia, Khan, Matthyssee....that it's since Floyd isn't fighting Ginger anytime soon.....

I hope it's KHAN...fuck it...at least it will be funny to see him KO'ed again...

Alexander is just horrible, he should never get another big fight.

At least Khan is entertaining in his own way.

Khan has been tweeting about wanting the Mayweather fight & justifying it to his fans - styles make fights etc. Have a feeling it'll be him, he is the best possible choice at 140-147. I'd prefer Canelo but Khan is still a better matchup with Floyd than Alexander or Garcia. 0 interest in seeing Cotto or Ortiz rematches.

Garcia is much better than Khan. Sure, he also has pretty much 0 chance of winning, but he is tougher than Khan with more power and ringsmarts. He'd make more of a fight of it, at least. Khan will be target practice by Round 3.

Khan vs Mayweather is another fight that will lose money for Showtime. Nobody gives a shit about Khan. Canelo is the only fight that will do good numbers. I hope Showtime pushes for Canelo. After having lost money on the Guerrero fight I think they will.

Khan-Mayweather in the UK would be big. Not sure how the economics would work but you could fill a stadium with that

I prefer Khan....Garcia might have more power/smarts...but is slow as hell Mayweather will counter him easily. I prefer to see Khan shit his pants during the fight walkout/intro in the ring....come out in round 1 on shaky legs like a baby deer or calf...OR he might be calm and bring it to Floyd, it's been a while since Floyd has been in there with someone with some speed....

It know it wont be Garcia....

Garcia won't be competitive for a single second of that fight, Khan will at least give Floyd something to work on for the first 3 rounds or so while he adjusts to the speed & reach difference. I'd be shocked if Garcia landed more than 5 punches in 12 rounds (assuming it lasted that long) if they fought.

The gate won't even cover half of Mayweather's purse. It needs to sell PPV's and right now Khan being knocked out recently and then nearly KO'd again in his last fight is fresh in the minds of fans. I wouldn't pay a penny to see this fight.

This is actually a good point, Khan needs a big win before a fight with Floyd Jr will sell. Unless they put it in Chicago on Pakistani Independence Day, or something.

The PPv market is pretty big here, I think Hatton-Floyd & Haye-Wlad both did about a million buys. Never happen, just daydreaming.

Was Wlad vs Haye even PPV? Hatton vs Floyd obviouly did big numbers, but Hatton at the time was a far bigger star than Khan could ever hope to be.

Yeah but if the fight was over here it'd be bigger news. I could see it clearing a million. As i say Im just day dreaming though, it's all moot. I think the site fee Floyd gets at the MGM will keep him there

Yup and Hut was right; it did over a million PPV's over here. It was actually a very big fight - the last one I can remember that was back page news and shown in most pubs etc.

Floyd - Khan would do very big numbers even if he is nowhere near as popular as Khan or Haye; he is very well known and Mayweather is arguably even better known thanks to his W over Hatton. Very unlikely, of course, but there you are.

mayweather jr would demand a cut of the UK ppv from Khan, Im quite sure. I think hatton kept the entire UK PPV money vs mayweather jr.

Wasn't Wlad vs Haye on regular HBO here in the US?

How much did the PPV cost in the UK?

I found my own answer. The Wlad vs Haye PPV would have cost $23 US dollars. Just for some perspective, the Floyd vs Guerrero fight was $59.99 and $69.99 in HD

PPvs are usually cheaper here. I think they're about 15 quid these days which is about 25 bucks.
