So would anyone think anything less of PBF if he offer Canelo a fight at a catchweight and put an amount that he can gain entering into the ring? I'll Holla 5000

Ruiz's Resume SHITS on Canelo's..."It's NOT Even Close"...

Floyd Beating a SHORTER Guy, in a Division he's ALREADY Won a Title in, WOULD NOT Be More Impressive than Roy Jones Beating Ruiz...

I'm more impressed by Roy defeating Ruiz than I would be by Mayweather defeating Canelo

Reed, I wonna see the fight as well. However fans are always putting unfair stipulations on certain fighters. Or should I say PBF and Roy Jones Jr when he was undefeated. We always want those guys to put themselves in situations that is not expected by any other fighters. When Manny was doing his thing just think of all the guys he fought at a catchweight and he still got mass credit for it. I mean just think about it. Canelo is a true 154lber. Hell he could prolly compete at 160lb. However I find it awfully funny no one is speaking about Canelo/Martinez. Both of them dudes is calling out a cat that when he fought at 154lbs he only weighed 151lbs. Then they who knows how much they will weigh entering the ring. IMO it's just such a double standard when it comes to Roy back in the day and now PBF. If I was PBF I would tell Canelo he would have to weigh 152lbs and he couldn't gain more than 160lbs. If not tell him to go fight someone that weighs as much as him. I'll Holla 5000

ruiz is a shitty heavyweight who beat some other shitty heavyweights. Im certainly laughing it up over his "wins" over holyfield. i saw his bitchass rolling around on the canvas in one of them

    Nope...

Ruiz's STYLE was Shitty, but Like it or Not, he was a Perennial Top 5 Heavyweight of his Era & Multiple Time Beltholder...That's a FACT...When a Natural Supermiddle Beats a Top 5 Heavyweight from ANY Era, that's MORE Impressive than the Likelihood of Floyd Mayweather Beating Canelo Alvarez...

Roy beating Ruiz was impressive ...I think it's become under appreciated actually...

Floyd would have to go beat Martinez or something to match it

Yeah but Floyd's about divisions bigger than Manny. Allot of the 'double standard' fans gave them on stuff like that is down to that

i guess that depends on how much stock you put into the heavyweight division. i think it has been a horrible division and consider all of the current fighters in the division horse shit. ruiz beat absolutely NO ONE among the top 500 pound for pound in my estimation. and he was KOd in the video clip by the one legitimate fighter he faced and allegedly defeated.

Roy's win vs Ruiz was cheapened by Toney. Jones trained at big bear, JT just eat like one then showed up & slapped ruiz around anyway

pbf has already criticized pacquiao for his fights at catch weights. and he's taken credit for not demanding that opponents like cotto fight at a catchweight (was the odh fight at a catch weight)? so he can't require one now. just because it's canelo.

plus, pbf is bigger than pacquiao. everyone knows it. not defending pac's catch weight bull shit. but if pbf's not gonna fight pacquiao and wants to act like he doesn't matter, then he can no longer use pacquiao as a standard the way he used to.

when has mayweather jr. ever suggested a catch weight for any fight? he fights at welterweight these days, and goes up to 154lbs to face guys who are champions there, in big money fights.

if he fights alvarez there will be no catchweight, nor any suggestion of it from mayweather jr.'s side.

He does accept them though and then doesn't even try to make the weight.

Seriously. He doesn't hug anyone to a decision. he wins fights by....fighting.

He's fought one real opponent and won a close decision

Aesthetically, he's better than Ruiz, but results wise, only a looney would say he is better right now

One should not The Duran's name in vain, brother REED. Besides, it's not like Esteban Dejesus spent 9 months at wendy's then beat Ray the next year even easier. We shall knoweth The Duran by his deeds for they were irreplicable.

The guy he beat just easily beat Cotto, much easier than Floyd did anyway.

  25. cdogg187

    cdogg187 GLADYS

Floyd won that fight 9-3... Cotto's performance is overrated because he didn't die

As it stands, he barely beat Trout and the open scoring surely had an effect on the match since Trout knew he was (undeservedly) hopelessly out of the fight by the midway point

Aye, Trout seems allot better than...erm Oquendo? Kirk Johnson? Or like whatever. That said, it's very difficult to compare heavyweight to other divisions.

  28. *Z*

*Z* WBC Silver Diamond Emeritus Champ

It's not that I don't think Floyd can beat him, it's that I don't think Floyd will fight him. Look at who he's fought recently, this would be his best fight since Hatton.

  29. Hut*Hut

    Hut*Hut The Mackintosh of temazepam

Cotto and Guererro were both good opponents I cant see how anybody could complain about either

  30. cdogg187

    cdogg187 GLADYS

exactly... and, bad or not, those guys were top ten heavies when Ruiz fought (clutched, fouled, rolled around in agony to gain a respite and get points deducted from) them

Trout is the only prime top ten fighter Alvarez has faced and he won a contentious decision aided by outrageous abuse of the open scoring system which doubtless altered his opponent's gameplan
