Ricardo Mayorga wins MMA debut

Ricardo Mayorga won his 'long awaited' MMA debut last night in Nicaragua, coming in 20 lbs overweight for his fight against some 0-1 fighter called Wesley Tiffer. From the reports I've read, Tiffer took Mayorga down at will, but did nothing when he got him down. Mayorga eventually hit Tiffer with a knee to the spine, then some punches before the ref stopped it.

Gotta believe Mayorga dodged a bullet when his fight with Din Thomas didn't come off.

Looks like he took a dive.

 

The funny thing is if this fight had taken place in front of an actual commission this probably would be overturned to a NC.

 

Mayorga will have a horrible MMA career. He came in way out of shape too, he was like 175 for a 160lbs fight.

 

Turns out Mayorga's win was overturned and he was suspended for the illegal knee.

Din Thomas would have raped him.

Din trains here in Port St. Lucie, and while he isn't what he was before his knee injury, the dude is still a very well-rounded fighter. And he has a solid chin. Mayoraga would have looked worse than James Tap Out Toney.

Yeah if he's borderline ktfo from a backhand slap from Mayo, I dread to think what would happen to poor Din if Mayo actually punched him ::

 

Why? Mayorga doesn't have to follow the rules? He kneed the guy straight in the spine.

 

He would be taken down and submitted in seconds if they really fought. Mayorga is horrible at MMA.

 

Din would have embarrassed him without even the slightest question.

 

Only if he was fighting at his proper weight.
