Disagree completely. Marquez is a terrific mechanic, excellent counterpuncher but there have been quite a lot of guys between 126-140 that I'd pick over him without hesitation head to head... Not that Mayweather is unbeatable (nobody is), but the list would be a hell of a lot smaller, in my opinion. Not too many 130-140 pounders all-time I'd make favorites over him in a match. At welterweight, there's a lot more and double that for Marquez.

Gosh damn. Pacquiao is just a little guy who basically sucked. He had moved up in weight. Why did anyone even give a shit about him fighting Floyd? It's not like he had a chance.

The only reason the analogy isn't better is because Calzaghe wasn't considered Roy's equal when Roy whipped Paz, not because of Pacquiao's flaws. Pacquiao was in everyone's top 3 p4p when Marquez starched him and in many's #1 spot.

As far as Marquez being built differently when he fought Pacquiao, sure he was juiced like a Florida orchard against Pacquiao and didn't appear to be vs Floyd, but so many around here think steroids don't help a boxer, does it really matter? Anyway, for purposes of the analogy, let's assume that Paz got all muscular when he ko'd Calzaghe with one punch after losing to Roy.
