Haye and Fury set for multi-million clash

DAVID HAYE and Tyson Fury look certain to meet in a £5million blockbuster heavyweight showdown later this year.

Talks have been going on for several weeks and the big domestic showdown could be announced in the next few days.

Promoters are still discussing possible venues, but a London or Manchester date in late September or early October looks likely.

Last night unbeaten Fury, 25 pulled out of a planned IBF title final eliminator against Kubrat Pulev, where victory would have guaranteed him a world title tilt against Wladimir Klitschko.

Former WBA heavyweight champion Haye was due to face Manuel Charr later this month, but has suffered a hand injury.

The Londoner expects to resume training in three weeks for one of the biggest all British battles of the last 25 years.

Neither fighter is scared of trash talking and the build-up to a potentially explosive clash is sure to be X-rated!

 

Unfortunately, the tone and language of Lillis article highlight the currency of the British boxing scene. Shit like "controversy", "clash", "trash-talk", "collision" and "loads of wedge" take primacy over "talent", "skills", "legacy", "rivalry".

Haye and Fury are a pair of modern overfed overpaid over-regarded cornerboys.

 

That said - i'll still watch and you know you will too. It's dzirty and you want it.

I hope Haye splatters him, Fury aint pretty enough to be champ.

 

Haye would have to open up and take chances in this one, he can't paw his way to a decision win here. Fury is far more fluid and accurate than that mook Valuev. Haye will have to lay him out to win.

Haye's the favourite, but I'd love it if Fury won. I'll be cheering him on.

 

One difference between Haye and Fury, and probably the most important one, is that Haye is very very organized in camp. Almost anal. Fury is loose and sloppy. If it comes down to who had the better camp, then Haye will walk it.

How about Fury is a bum. He got me interested with his trash talking before his fight with USS but he is sloppy, slow and just straight up garbage.

 

He's garbage in many regards but quite good in others. He is a live dog but only just. His size cannot be denied, he's a big brute. I am with Reed on this one though....sooner have Fury vs Klitschko.

 

Fury-Haye is more fun, tbh. The only Klit fight I care to see is Vitali-Valuev for sheer novelty value

 

Superb matchup that makes sense for both.

I am a fan of both, Haye more so. But as Reed pointed out, it would be better for the sport if Fury won since Haye doesn't do much fighting anymore

 

As a member of a proud and distinct ethnic minority, Fury would probably take umbrage at being referred to as an "ape". :crafty:

My wee brother's bird is from a Irish gypsy family. She's literally the opposite of the stereotype to be fair though. Very shy & bookwormish.
