If you really mean this, then it sure doesn't sound like you have seen that many fighters.

There's as much chance of Amir Khan beating Ray Robinson as Calzaghe beating Moore. The idea is sub-ridiculous

Gravity is not an opinion, Slice! Great White Sharks KTFO of Baby Seals is not an opinion!

agREED. And not only Moore, there's a lot of Light-Heavies who would kick his ass.

That's not really fair. Amir Khan is not a great fighter by any means and Calzaghe is at the very least one of the best super middleweights of all time. People didn't want to give him credit but he beat Kessler arguably more easily than Ward did and won his big fights stateside.

One of the most accomplished official 168lb titlists I guess, but that's a baby division. Given the changes in weigh in rules etc he should be judged, historically, against light heavyweights. Bob Foster, Ezzard Charles, Archie Moore, Harold Johnson, Jimmy Bivens, prime Roy Jones, Mike Spinks, Billy Conn, Saad Muhammed....even prime B-Hop. Ain't no slap avalanche bemusement getting those jobs done.

There's got to be 20 Light Heavies I'd pick to beat him 10 out of 10 and another 20 I'd pick without hesitation to get 7 out of 10 off him

Nobody who's watched both Calzaghe & Moore fight could possibly really think Calzaghe would beat Moore. Come on.

Moore would 'gerbil' Calzaghe's rectum with a big vicious mongoose.

Calzaghe's SPEED Would Give Ah'Chee MO' PAUSE for a Round or 2, but Calzaghe had a Propensity to Hang in the Pocket Tooooooo Loooooooooooong, which would Prove to Be DISASTROUS vs. Ah'Chee MO....

Not really Calzaghe had a good chin and smothered a lot of guys with volume.

Calzaghe was rarely badly hurt during his career.

Moore on the other hand was annihilated by journeyman.

    The hyperbole is just weird.

You guys are talking as if Moore is Bob Foster or something. While I'd agree Foster would deal with Calzaghe fairly easily, he'd also knock Moore and his stupid, ineffective crab defense back to the beach he dried up on.

    Are you 70 years old?

If you are perhaps you can shed light with your newspaper clippings and live radio broadcast of this ancient warrior.

Unfortunately for mooks like me who were born watching televised fights in color, we are relegated to watching about 5% of Archie's relevant fights on the Youtubes, most not even full. And from the looks of it he still gets dropped in just about every fight.

Perhaps if he tried to not fight like a crab his defense would have been better and I could more comfortablly favour him over these modern bums who can't even knock guys out.

...and then Calzaghe groupies would blame the ring.

I don't know if this is facetious or if you've never watched Archie Moore fight:dunno:

His defense was stellar... The guy of recent vintage he reminds me of most is James Toney who also utilized a very similar defensive approach... Floyd Mayweather's defensive style is in the same family with greater emphasis on the shoulder and less on the freer hand for parrying (like Toney and Moore) ... the guy you are talking about sure sounds like a clumsy bum, though
