Live on channel 5 from 9:30pm, if my fellow UK buddies want to catch it.

Out of these 3, I must admit, I'm most excited about Hughie. He has the tools and will only get better, IMO. Chunky looked sharp and solid last time out. I expect another big performance from him, but he seriously needs to step up to the plate then. I reckon Chunky-Abraham. Chunky beats Abs, IMO. Eubank Jr's first bout this year. Inactive due to problems with channel 5/his promoter. He wants to make a statement.

These are not fighters from the traditional heartland of boxing excellence, and any good fortune they may encounter is merely proof of the continued decline of standards in our game.

Eubank jnr. is cruising for a bruising he likes to prance around like his ol man but lacks the pop to back it up.

Bozic retired on his stool after 5/6 rounds. Fat boy was far more aggressive than normal and looked half decent but then again his opponent was rubbish.

Steve Bunce was blabbering on about Khan on last nights Boxnation broadcast. He said he could not understand why Khan got so much stick. Well its for the same reason that Eubank Jr does. No charisma, no class, an average fighter who is earning way above his due in a basic, talent-deficient fashion.

DeGale wants Groves clash at Loftus Road

    George Groves and James DeGale

    09/06/2013
    By Rob Brennan

James DeGale wants a rematch with George Groves at QPR’s Loftus Road ground.

Harlesden’s Olympic gold medallist lost a close points decision against his unbeaten arch-rival and fellow West Londoner when they met at the O2 Arena two years ago.

And the DeGale camp say they want Groves to agree to an eliminator for a super-middleweight world title fight later this year.
    Loftus Road

DeGale wants to fight at Loftus Road.

DeGale, cousin of former QPR winger Lee Cook, claims Chelsea fan Groves is keen to avoid another showdown.

He said: “I’d box Groves in my next fight, but I swear to God he does not want to box me. He doesn’t want it.

“That’s a massive fight. That could sell out QPR football stadium.

“I’d love to fight there. That’s my local club. I was brought up on that club – my granddad is a mad supporter.”

DeGale continued his march towards a world title challenge with a comprehensive victory over Croatian veteran Stjepan Bozic on Saturday.

Hammersmith prospect Groves, who also beat DeGale as an amateur, is himself on the cusp of a world title opportunity.

Both men have declared that they want to face Nottingham’s IBF champion Carl Froch.

But DeGale’s promoter Mick Hennessy said: “Why not a final eliminator with George Groves for the WBC title [where] everything’s on the line?”

Sakio Bika of Cameroon and Mexican Marco Antonio Periban will fight for the vacant WBC belt later this month.

Germany-based Russian Robert Stieglitz, the WBO champion, has also been touted as a possible future opponent for Groves.

An injury forced Groves to withdraw from a proposed clash with Stieglitz last year.

Groves is going to plain relegate that boy this time.

It's a collision of the retarded trainers. Jim McDonnell should be banned from training, and Booth should be banned from talking about training.

    "The Blender"....Indeed. :shit:

I wonder how ticket sales for DeGale-Groves II at Loftus Road would compare to McGuigan-Pedroza

Let me spin that on it's head for you......imagine Degale vs Groves got announced in Barrys time and Barry vs Pedroza got announced in DeGales time.....now how do the tickets move.

I bet DeGale vs Groves in 1985 is held at the local Mens Working Club on a Thursday night.

I reckon Barry vs Pedroza today sells Loftus Road out again. The fights in the street over tickets would be better than any fight between DeGale and Groves.

Sure, today, DeGale and Groves will move buckets of tickets, but only for the same reason that John Rawling tells us that Huck vs Afolabi III contained some great action.....that reason being that modern fans are morons and know no better and are easily bullshitted.

I think that's harsh. They would sell because boxing isn't dying and people still want to watch it and domestic rival fights have always sold well, regardless of whether or not the standard is especially good.

De Gale I would give some credit if he challenged and beat Groves in a rematch.

Eubank Jr I have not been impressed with at all, he thinks he is way better than he actually is.

Fury I have yet to see, but big things being said of him.

Groves won't accept the challenge. He's happy to live off the robbery.
