    What are people's thoughts on the kid? He really needs to step up the comp but he looks to have all the tools so far. I'm a big fan.

    Never seen him but considering slice thinks he's good and he's called 'Gary Russell Jr' I'm less than excited about his prospects

    Just you watch what happens if he ever fights somebody who actually knows what he's doing. He's gonna get walked on to the jawbox.

    people who would be useless apart from the fact they have physical gifts are affletik. Rigondeax's two weights smaller he'd drop this guy stone dead in 2....he doesn't know what he's doing

    He's has more nuance to his style than you give him credit for, the kid can fight. Obviously I'm not saying he's a match for Rigo at this stage of his career, Rigondeaux is one of the best ever to do it, but he IS better than you're saying.

    Absolutely right. Gondo is a hell of a thinker in the ring, knows what he's doing every second of the fight, actually knows what he's doing the next few seconds, and the few after that :lol:

    This guy, not so much, he's more like Khan.

    I wasn't comparing him to Rigondeaux who is one of the best technicians I've ever seen. You can still be a good painter even if you're not da Vinci.

    Since When is Athleticism a BAD Trait???:dunno:....

    Gary Russell, Jr. is a VERY Talented Fighter...He's a SOUTHPAW, he's FAST as Hell, he has Pretty GOOD Power for a Little Guy, he Punches in COMBINATION & he Actually LIKES HURTING People...Russell's a MEAN Little Dude...Very BUSINESS Minded in the Ring...

    His CHIN Remains as an Unanswered Question, but Other than That, he's the Goods...If REED's Not Mistaken, Russell HAS Fought Rigondeaux in the Ammy's (Or it Could've Been Gamboa) & Acquitted Himself Fairly Well in Losing...Certainly WASN'T a 2nd Round KO or Whatever was Suggested...

    DOUBT Gary Russell, Jr. if you Want...You'll Be LATE to the Party...

    I like Russell Jr. He suffers with his hands I think though. I think that's why he's been out of action.

    Guillermo is 32 fights and has had 10 million fights.

    Gary Russell Jr is 25 and has had a few fights.

    Make a fair comparison.

    Who said it was? And thank god he has it because he'd be 4-15 rather than 19-0 without it. He has all the ring craft of Amir Khan if Hunter snuck him glue to sniff between rounds instead of smelling salts.

    agREED...

    Saying Rigondeaux BEATS Russell ISN'T a Slight, or @ Least it SHOULDN'T Be...REED Knows this, Russell Would Give Rigondeaux a More COMPETITIVE Fight than the "2012 Fighter of the Year" Did...

    He looks less inept in the Castaneda fight than in the first two I watched. Still pretty meh.

    Gondo has had 12 pro fights, Gary has had 22 pro fights.

    Gondo = super elite fighter

    Gary = 'Murica Khan.

    'Murica Khan :lol:

    I noticed the first two fights I saw were from 2011 and the last one was from 2013 so i think he's improving. He should go SPAR with Rigondeaux and he might be pretty decent by 2015.

    For What it's Worth, REED Thinks Russell, Jr. will have a BETTER Pro Career than Adrien Broner, when it's All Said & Done....
