Simply because it'd be fun to watch GGG hospitalize the waste of life.

fact of the matter is, we don;t know how good Ayala Jr. was... he might very well have become one of the best fighters of the 1980s... the world will never know

With the talent pool the 80's had...... I doubt it.

With the talent pool today? He'd be a top fighter. He was more talented than Canelo.

Still, I think GGG would have blasted him.

It's hard to say even still... he was just starting to up the level of comp and looked impressive doing so... he might very well have been the Duran of the 80s the way so many thought he would be

Cmonnn man, I know you can't be serious.

Duran was a once in a LIFETIME type talent. Ayala was never gonna be that.

I THINK he would have beaten Moore, but we'll never know. Davey might have blasted him for all we know.

Leonard, motivated Duran, Hearns, and Hagler would have beaten the living dog shit outta him though.

I think at max potential, Ayala would be at the same tier as a guy like Vargas. Which is no shame, cause prime Nando was a helluva fighter. Two different types of fighters though; Ayala was a bigger puncher than Vargas, but Nando was a better technician.

What happens if GGG comes into the ring with a wig and dressed as a school teacher?

Wouldnt GGG have 10-15lb on him?

I agree with Xplosive. I don't see the super special fighter others do I guess, I think the fab 4 would have raped him.

That's the whole point, man... it's all "I think" and "would have", "could have"

Nobody knows and it is pointless to speculate... Ayala is a poor MM fighter because nobody knows anything

When I say "Duran of the 80s" I am echoing what many referred to him as when he was coming up, I'm not predicting anything

Yep...there's no way to gauge how good Ayala might have been. He looked like a beast against his opposition. His KO of Robbie Epps was a bit of a "Holy Shit" moment bexause

I didn't like him much, 'cause he seemed like an asshole, but he did seem to be, at the very least, a good fighter with potential. At the time, Ayala beating Moore seemed like a foregone conclusion to most (I wasn't so sure about that) and Duran-Ayala was gonna be a huge fight. I never thought he was gonna beat the likes of Hagler or Hearns, but he very well could have been among the best of the rest.

But like you said, we'll never know for sure.
