irish lets turn this around - how impressive a performance will Alvarez have to turn in to be worthy of the shot? Or will any performance he puts in just be down to Floyd being old/small?

You cannot pull the panties off a bare ass, so he could have killed Trout the first punch he threw for all the difference it makes. Trout. The man who beat the man that lots of other men had beaten better versions of. Years ago. At a different weight limit. So you know.....you cannae polish a turd like.

Or Floyd really not being a brilliant 154lbr, just an excellent fighter whose status as a "slave" has allowed him to avoid putting too many miles on the clock and force this guy up down to this weight or allow Floyd up to that weight etc, who finally began to have difficulties with the vaunted "Functional Weight Advantage" of much younger guys who fought like they had nothing to lose.

Why, he would be greater the Sugar Ray Robinson, wouldn't he LOK?

    Somehow, Someway!

Floyd fans setting him up for god status already.

Reminds me of Roy fans back in the day. Why if he could just somehow, someway beat Johnny Ruiz..........why he would just be the best ever, golly jee willakers, he would be.

Ruiz was a jag-off scrub who was rightfully disallowed by the referee to do what he does best. I'm glad Roy beat that cancerous eye-sore, but don't make it out to be more then what it was. :nono:

I called Sam Peter "a poor man's David Tua" before the first fight which he lost to Wald Pussy where Wald Pussy skittered around the ring falling over, like a baby colt being chased by bear still sleepy from hibernation.

Which is what would happen to you after you got punched in the back of the head. Nice appreciation of the mans resolve, I am sure you could do better with your skinny oblong scrubby bearded noggin and your sparrow legs.

wow, an Irishman whose BMI exceeds his benchpress is criticizing my physique & appearance (I don't have sparrow legs or an oblong noggin, btw. Few from my part of the Subcontinent do. And I have a thick beard, not a 'scrubby' one)

After 10 pages of "discussion", the only thing this topic actually proves is Irish has WAY too much free time.

I have some free time. I work Mon-Fri, 07:30 to 4pm. Small company. Makes lights.

I thankfully finally got off the building sites where I was a labourer. No shit, my triceps and back are out of sight.....but its a brutal racket. No country for old pussies, let me tell you.

Based on his defense, his hand speed, his punch selection, his jab, his footwork, etc. etc. etc.

Basically no matter how Mayweather/Alvarez turns out, Irish will dismiss both fighters

If Alvarez does well, it is because Floyd isn't that good... If Floyd does well, Canelo sucks

No matter how it turns out bleh bleh bleh Like there was any doubt about how it turns out.Floyd will deal with this guy with relative ease, and it will be a "great night great fight wow what action" all the way and Canelo will be 6 months from greatness and blah blah blah.

If Alvarez "does well" {what do you mean by that, do you mean win, can you bring yourself to say "win"???} it's because he's a bit younger, bigger, fatter, heavier....and Floyd is a bit older. If Floyd does well, i.e. wins, which I believe he will, its because a functional three weight advantage becomes dysfunctional when you weigh in at 152 and because Alvarez, he of the decision win over 40 yoa Mosley, really is not all that brilliant to begin with.

Sorry to urinate on the parade. Your emperor is bollock naked and his weener is hanging out. He doesn't have new clothes, he is NEKKID.

Yet he matched one of Calzaghe's two best wins.

    He did, at the second attempt, 6 years after the fact, on points {this being the Froch that stops people, you see}

And considering what a poor fighter calzone was, {which is why we all gave Lacy such a great shot, you see] then needing a few bites at an older staler cherry to match him doesn't really speak volumes, does it.

    :dunno:
