He knocks him out Breland could win every completed round, but he'd get hit enough for it to matter in the end... Tito's punch is too much for a guy with Breland's durability issues to overcome... He'd probably put Tito on his ass early on with a hard right hand, but he's just not sturdy enough to keep him away for 12 rounds... Trinidad catches up to him eventually
I'd say breland lasts 4 or 5 before he is STRETCHED Breland would be Breading sea bass in Boston within a week of the fight
Trinidad never knocked anybody good out anywhere near that fast... Even Vargas, who stood there in front of him like an idiot in the opening moments of the fight
Trinidad KO 6 He'd get out quicked early and Breland won't stand in front of him. But Tito would close the distance and get home with those short hooks and uppercuts inside and as mentioned, Breland won't take the punch.
Mark Breland was 1 of THE Best Ever......WITH Headgear... SLIGHTLY Above Average, World Class Fighter Without...Tito Sparks him in 5 or Less... REED:mj:
Tito in 10 is a lot more likely given how much trouble he'd have with Breland's jab and skills (he'd have to respect his power as well)
One of the hardest punching welters of all time landing on one of the shittiest chins in welterweight history = Early KO is very possible.
Trinidad is seriously one of the dumbest fighters in history... Jab and movement confused the fuck out of him... If you think Breland wouldn't build a big early lead, you are overrating the fuck out of Trinidad I'd wager Aaron Davis was a smarter fighter than Trinidad (of course, you ignore how far behind he was on the cards against Breland and that he was in danger of the ref stopping it because of cuts) ... Trinidad was greater than Davis, had more power and had more desire/grit/whatever intangible that makes fighters great... but I never saw Aaron Davis as confused by a jab as Trinidad was... Trinidad was a dumb motherfucker... If Breland was a bit more durable, he'd school his sorry ass
agREED... @ Welter, Mark Breland Made Tommy Hearns' Chin Look LaMottaESQUE...Moreso, NONE of the Guys that KO'ed Breland, Hit as HARD as Tito Did... REED:mj:
None of them were as dumb as he was or as completely baffled by jabs as he was, either Furthermore, none of the dudes Trinidad got out of there in 3 or 4 rounds could carry Breland's jock
I think you're underrating Tito, and he wasn't THAT dumb. Hardly amongst the greatest ring IQ's, but its not like he had the brain of Tua. You overrate the fuck outta Breland. Moreso than styles, Tito was just a higher class fighter than Breland, and higher class than bum ass Aaron Davis in EVERYWAY that matters. Tito smokes Breland.
No, he really was that dumb. Watch his fights against Oscar, Bernard and Winky. Hideously overrated fighter, just a dumb, plodding left hooker.
With cdogg & Mex here, Breland would be winning every second of every round until he got caught. It'd go a few rounds.
Breland was a far superior technician to Trinidad, vastly better... He had a shaky jaw and a suspect gas tank, that's why he'd lose to Trinidad... Trinidad was dumber than Aaron Davis, way dumber... but he hit harder and he had more hunger, more desire... that's why he was better than those guys and why he had a better career than either of them... not because of skills or brains, because of heart and will and strength... "Higher Class" my ass Who you think boxed better, Pete Ranzany or Pipino Cuevas?
word Everything is in place for Breland except for his durability... He'd lose because he wasn't durable and that will cost you against a puncher... He wouldn't lose because Trinidad was "classier"
Aaron Davis was a scrub with nothing more than a solid chin, and decent power. He had NOTHING over Tito besides chin. Mel Taylor boxed the shit outta him, and proved how dumb and limited he was. Breland might have been a better technician boxer than Tito at long range, but he wasn't that hard to find at all, and a young Tito knew how to find the target. It'd be over quickly and brutally.
Oh, here we go with the "young tito" bullshit, the "before he fell in love with his power" nonsense More like "before he fought anyone good at boxing" Aaron Davis couldn't hang with Taylor because of speed, not because of some technical deficiency... It's not like he stood there eating jabs while a guy just demonstrated how to take one lateral step, then jab, then take another lateral step Breland was miles beyond Trinidad as a boxer... fucking miles
I think Tito wins in the middle rounds but he'd get outboxed badly until then. I think the one thing we're forgetting is even though Breland was chinny he had too much heart for his own good. If he was getting the better of a guy he tended to open up more. I could see him handily outboxing Tito and wobbling him or dropping him. Once he smells blood he'd get more aggressive and walk into a hook. Tito wouldn't back off once he hurt him and he'd end the fight.
I'm sorry but it's true. Tito at welterweight was a much more patient boxer puncher than the guy who moved up to 154. During his undefeated days he appeared to be a very smart ring tactician. Opponents would often start out outboxing him but after a few rounds Tito always seemed to make little adjustments. Also don't act like Tito didn't beat some very good boxers at welter such as a young Camacho, Oba Carr, and Pernell "fucking" Whitaker. So let's drop the hate and quit acting like a jab befuddled Tito his whole career. I can't argue against it at 154 but at 147 I call bullshit. Also don't think just because Vargas lasted nearly a full 12 with Tito that he couldn't finish opponents faster. Campus in 4, Joppy in 5, Mayorga & Carr in 8 and the great Mamadou Thiam in a mere 3 rounds just to name a few.
Miles better than Tito as a boxer? Exaggeration and bullshit at its finest. Mark Breland simply was not that good as a PRO, deal with it. He had good skills, but nothing to marvel at. You're making it seem as if Tito had NO skill, which is just a fucking lie. Trinidad had a good jab, a FULL arsenal of punches, was extremely accurate, blocked and parried shots at a reasonable rate, and could adjust the distance on his bombs. Those ARE skills! To say Breland was "miles" better than Tito as a boxer is just a bullshit lie, and another way for you build up the mid-to-late 80's welters that you love so much. Tito's main weakness was that he was relatively slow of foot, therefore had trouble with mobility. Breland wasn't mobile. He DAMN SURE wasn't as mobile as Oscar, and Hopkins we won't even compare him to. So, once again I will say...... Tito would destroy Breland. It might very well be a repeat of Trinidad-Blocker.
Camacho was in his early 30's, had been fighting as a pro for like 13 years and was nothing more than a name opponent at 147. There was nothing "young" about him.
Is this a joke post? "Young Camacho"?? Camacho was in his early 30's, had been fighting as a pro for like 13 years and was nothing more than a name opponent at 147. There was nothing "young" about him. And it wasn't like Whitaker was anywhere near his best either at that point in his career. And the "great Mamadou Thiam"??? Please... If you're trying to be funny, then well done! If not, you need to do some more homework.
