Mike Alvarado-Rusian Provodnikov

Been reading that this is very likely to happen! Thoughts on this? I got Mike winning this but Rusian has a serious punchers chance. If Mike elects to box and move and not trade (despite showing a good chin against Rios), he wins imo, but if he elects to stand and trade it could spell disaster. This has the makings to be a really great fight!

I got the Russian big in this fight... he's going to knock Alvarado out and it will be an exciting fight

Agreed, he's a tough, strong little bastard. He should beat Alvarado.

Braddles is considerably better than Alvarado, and Nikov damn near beat him.

Matthhyyssee vs. Protestantinov is one fight I'd love to see

Not a bad idea. It does happen from time to time, but it's not too often you get two explosive power punchers with huge chins at the lower weight classes in the ring.

Should Matthyse get past Garcia, that would be ideal for his career path. It would look like a tune-up to the casual fan, but we know Lucas would have to work his ass off in that fight.

@jamesmcknight83: The deal is done. Mike Alvarado will face Ruslan Provodnikov at the First Bank Center in Denver on October 19 @boxingmadmag #boxing

I'm not totally sold on Provodnikov yet. I feel like he's content doing fuck all for long stretches.

He should win, but an Alvarado decision wouldn't shock me at all.

Me neither. But Alvarado's a tough guy. He might win.

Yeah he can obviously fight, but I think maybe Braddles made him look a bit better than he is by engaging him so much. And he strangely stepped off the gas several times when it seemed like he could take Braddles out if he really went for it.

He should win, like I said Timmy is quite a bit better than Alvarado, but I also wouldn't be shocked at all if Mike won.

In other words, if Alvarado can avoid being punched in the face and body, he should win.

If Provo can summon the same performance he had against Braddles, I see no chance of Mediocre Mile High winning. Provo's probably a better fighter than Rios. He hits harder than Rios, at least.
