There has been a lot of buzz in the media for quite a few months now that Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger) could be the next Batman. After all he was cast as the Caped Crusader in the ill fated abortive attempt Justice League production by director George Miller. Now with The Lone Ranger a huge bomb, his chances to play that role are quite improbable. But who knows? Maybe Zack Snyder might think otherwise.

 

Bruce Wayne should not look like a boy band singer. He's supposed to be handsome, but not with boy-ish looks. Both Gosling and that ^ faggot don't fit the mold IMO.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan would be a good choice since he's already worked with Snyder, but he's a little bit too old for the role. Even Michael Fassbender would be a good choice and that way Nolan can keep with the British actor pattern.

 

Godfather: don't you think that if Nolan is producing this 'Man of Steel' sequel with Batman in it wouldn't he persuade Snyder to cast Joseph Gordon Levitt as Batman since the ending of The Dark Knight Rises left the door open for this actor to be the next caped crusader? I never bought the theory that 'Blake' was going to be Robin/Dark Wing since no sequel was going to follow 'Rises'. Gordon Levitt as a inexperienced rookie new Batman & Cavil as a not-so-experienced Kal-El makes sense.

 

Makes sense if they pretend to have some sort of continuity.

 

And that could lay the foundation to a Justice League film in 2016.

So a superman and batman movie is coming to the theaters. Hope they make a good story.

 

Okay this is the latest scoop:
Director Zack Snyder has currently a short list of actors that are being considered for the Batman role. These are Josh Brolin, 46, (and supposedly the frontrunner), Ryan Gosling, 32, Joe Manganiello, 36, the werewolf from True Blood and the only one buffed enough not to require fake muscles, Watchmen Mathew Goode (a little skinny IMO), The Hobbit's dwarf prince Richard Armitage (too british) and Max Martini, 43, from Pacific Rim. All good actors, but IMO Joe Manganiello is the no-brainer choice since he looks like Bruce Wayne/Batman should look, plus he had points with director Snyder since he almost won the role of Kal-El/Superman in Man of Steel. His scheduling problem with True Blood prevented him from commiting and then Henry Cavil won the role. Sadly, this can be the same scenario again since his True Blood schedule could conflict with the superhero film schedule. Others point out that Snyder's script will be paying homage to Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns thus an aging actor as an aging Batman will be required and that is why Josh Brolin could nail the part.

It's too early to do a Dark Knight Returns storyline. They should do a World's Finest movie.
