For example, Clogg know "Apocalypse Now" end badly for Colonel Kurtz despite Clogg never getting past the little Larry Fishburne death scene. Clogg cry in Frosted Flakes and not want to go on. Clogg take screenwriting classes, Clogg know what happen next.

Just watched the movie. It is a very good movie imo. That the movie is very similar to the Original doesn't make it a bad movie. If the Original didn't exist, the movie would have much better ratings. Off that I am sure.

 

I finally saw the original (after Anthony commanded me to do so in Paltalk) and I didn't like it, I have no interest in watching it again

It's technically tremendous, high-end stuff... Inventive camera work, excellent acting, the director definitely knows what he is doing... as a production, it really is incredibly well done

But I found the story utterly preposterous and the violence gratuitous... I'll never be convinced that the level of violence (not to mention the unfortunate fate of a random Octopus) depicted in this film was actually necessary or that it is meant to show us the lamentable side-effects of revenge fantasies... I call bullshit on that, it was there to shock/horrify half the audience and provide cheap thrills for the sicker viewers... The performers did well to even make this story watchable in movie form but it was totally ridiculous and beyond convoluted

I know I am definitely in the minority on this as the film has an 80% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and only a handful of respected critics disliked the film like I did, but I stand by my thoughts on it... I'm convinced it's a great technical film but I don;t think it's even a mediocre piece of art

 

the hallway scene is one of the best ever

that was a great fight scene. i think the movie is great, but I see where you're coming from clog. The Koreans/Japanese are twisted little fuckers.

 

I havent seen the original, but stumbled across the remake the other day.

Enjoyable movie, give it a 6.5.
