Roy says that Kovalev's style of going forwards and relying on big punches would pay right into Hopkins' hands and that it would not be a good idea for Kovalev to face such experienced guy.

Hopkins has a knack for locking up guys. If he locks up Kovalev, he probably wins. If he doesn't, he loses badly. I'd love to see the fight because I think he doesn't.

i think kovalev knocks the shit out of hopkins. i had the cloud fight close and we saw the difference in skill between kovalev and cloud in their respective fights with campillo

Hopkins would never take this fight.

Roy basically said Hopkins would win by not engaging.

hopkins claims kovalev is ducking him

difference is that kovalev will let his hands go a helluva lot more than cloud

A younger Hopkins would beat the brakes off Kovalev. Right now I think he'd probably survive, but lose in a very negative fight.

if kovalev has the stamina to keep the type of pressure on that he has shown thus far through the first quarter of his fights then there is no way in hell hopkins survives 12 rounds.

It's possible that Hopkins could shuck and jive his way to a one-sided decision loss... but that is about it

I see Bernard dislocating a shoulder, twisting an ankle or suffering from fight-end vaginal irritation by round 5 or 6 once he realizes he can dictate a slow, methodic pace.

    A LIKELY Scenario...

Bernard's NOBODY's Bitch, but he's NOT a "Go Out on Your Shield" Type Either...He'll Find a "Macho" Way of Getting Out of the Fight (Duran-Leonard II, Chavez-Dela II, etc.), if/when Things Look BLEAK...

Hopkins in a negative fight? Do you have any historical evidence for such an outlandish claim?

you're under-estimating Hopkins willingness to stink out the joint. But I also think him "finding a way out" is very likely as well.

i would never underestimate that aspect. and he very well may find a way out, when he realizes this russian is a guy who wont be discouraged by a heavy counter right every now and then. cloud couldve been the one to finally outwork hopkins but he was reluctant to let his hands go. kovalev is clearly more skilled and busier than cloud.
