We'll See if those Comparisons ULTIMATELY Play Out, but Kovalev's ALREADY in the Ballpark, in Terms of BIG Puncher Analogies...REED's Been Peeping Some of his Fights the Last Couple Days & All he Can Say is WOW!!!... Kovalev Doesn't WIND UP his Shots All that Much, Doesn't Necessarily Get As Much TORQUE as he Possibly Can on Each Shot & Doesn't Always LAND CLEAN...But it Doesn't even Matter::...He HURTS Guys THROUGH their Arms & Gloves, as they're Covering Up... The Fact that he ISN'T Reckless Only Makes him MORE Dangerous...Carl Froch Would have to Fight PERFECTLY for 12 Rounds, to Beat Kovalev...REED Isn't Sure if he Can.... REED:hammert:
I doubt Frochy can pull it off. It's gonna require Ward's defensive skill and overall ability. The Froch-Kessler rematch was pretty damn brutal. Froch won clearly, but old man Kessler hurt him several times. If Kov lands on him like that, I highly doubt the farmer lasts the distance.
REED HATES to Go Overboard in Favor of a Guy Only 4 Years Into his Pro Career, Especially OVER Carl Froch, who is as BATTLE TESTED as they Come...But Kovalev's a STYLISTIC Disaster for Him... Froch is Inherently FLAWED, Though he Makes his Flaws WORK, More Times than Not...@ the End of the Day, Froch is Tooooo BALLSY to Fight "Perfect" & He Gets HIT...If He Tries that Hands by his Sides Shit (Which he ALWAYS Does, in Every Fight), it Could Be Nate Campbell-Robbie Peden, All Over Again... REED:hammert:
Frochy is ballsy, but he's not retarded. I don't think he'd be dumb enough to go in with the game plan of going to war with Kov. He'd try to fight disciplined, I just don't think it would work. It worked against Abraham. But AA was a midget and a guy who only explodes in spurts. In other words, Froch could figure him out. Kov is only like an inch or two shorter than Froch, and he's probably physically stronger. But he's far more fluid, and active than AA and with much better accuracy.
Froch would treat Kov in the same way as he did Abraham. He might be a farmer but he isn't retarted; no way does he step up to fight a devastating puncher and then try trading with him. He'd try and jab Kovs head off. MTF
It's not that I don't think Froch can do it, but AA was a middleweight coming up. Kov is a light heavy. And the AA fight was three years and six fights ago.
I'm not sure Froch would be able to do it either. It would be a pick 'em fight for me. I'm just fairly confident that Froch would approach it that way rather than trying to trade bombs. MTF
Well I know for sure that Froch isn't that guy that Kovalev whupped on Saturday. I would go with Froch since he can beat heavy handed guys. He has problems with master boxers and Kovalez isn't that.
directly i expect wards management to quietly accept froch fighting kovalev while they look elsewhere.
Similarly, I expect Floyd Mayweather to quietly accept Pacquaio fighting Brandon Rios while he fights Canelo Alvarez. Look for Floyd to fight the dangerous Rios only after he's been softened up by Pacquiao first.
Uuuuuh, Ward BEAT Froch...EASILY...Most DECISIVE Loss of Froch's Career...What EXACTLY Makes You Think Ward is Giving ANY Consideration to Carl Froch???... REED::
Irish has IMPLIED that @ Well, while Falling Shy of Actually SAYING it...Irish SUCKS Sooooooooooo Bad @ Being SUBTLE, You Can Hear Faint, VACUUM Cleaner Sounds, as he's Doing It... REED:hammert:
except floyd never fought pac, never intended to fight him, never had to fight him, and except kovalev at 175 is a damned sterner test than tba at 168 if kov beats froch, then the word is leftovers, if froch beats kov then the word is been there done that.
This is LITERALLY the First Time You've EVER Typed those Words, w/Out any Qualifiers BEFORE or AFTER... REED:shit:
If kovalev beats froch or just even continues to win then ward will have to face him. Hbo will pressure hin
As they Should... REED's Only Arguing Against Adolph's INSINUATION that Ward is Somehow Obligated to Fight Kovalev IMMEDIATELY... REED:mj:
I fucking did. So I will say it again for those of you who don't like REEDING it the first time......Ward's people will quietly sit there and accept Kovalev fighting Froch, with both Kovalev and Froch putting more miles on their respective clocks. Jesus fucking Christ, what's so hard about that? Froch had a hard fight with Kessler, he will have another hard fight with Groves {another evening of Direll-esque, Adam Booth inspired non-fighting running bullshit} and another hard evening with Kovalev. Suits Ward down to the ground if Froch does all of this and wins. All he has to do is outbox whats left of Froch and he's got dem proxy wins. And it doesn't exactly hurt him either if Kovalev wins in a hard fight with Froch, as nobody is expecting Ward to charge up to 175 and fight Kovalev in any case. Instead he'll use good old Murican "bargaining" power and bring the guy down to 168. Kovalev vs Froch suits Ward just fine, believe me. I never said Ward was ducking anyone.
Like REED Said, You're Placing the Onus on Ward to Face Kovalev &/or Froch NEXT.... Hell, You're ALREADY Applying LAME Ass Excuses to Ward Related HYPOTHETICALS::...You're ALREADY Preparing Yourself to DIScredit Ward, Should he Fight/Beat Froch (Again) or Kovalev..."Putting Miles on their Respective Clocks"..."What's Left of Froch"..."dem Proxy Wins"...."Bring the Guy Down to 168"... You Even had to Throw 'Murica Into the Fray.... REED Knows Andre Ward is 2 Things You LOATHE MOST (BLACK & 'Murican), but You Really Need to Get Over it, Adolph...Since WINNING the Super 6 (You Know, the Eurocentric Tournament Ward WASN'T Favored to Win in the 1st Fucking Place???), He's Been BEYOND Reproach... But Here YOU Go, CLEARLY INSINUATING Ward is Somehow OBLIGATED to Face Froch/Kovalev NEXT & Worse, Laying the Groundwork to DIScredit Ward, in the Off Chance he BEATS Froch/Kovalev... Again, You SUCK @ Insinuating...You THINK You're Masking it, but it's COMICALLY Obvious, Homey... REED:dancingBaby:
:dunno: Insinuate what? There's no onus on Ward to do anything. Why would there be? "He done won Super 6" :: :atu: Ward can say and do what he wants, at least in the USA. He's beyond any onus. He's already beaten Froch, and Kovalev is at 175. I never intimated that Ward was obliged to face either next. In fact, if he was obliged to face either of Kovalev/Froch in his next fight, then a Kovalev vs Froch fight preceding any fight with Ward would probably dilute Wards purse, as his own last fight was the Dawson farce, he cannot seem to find a "suitable" opponent {beatable and acceptable to the networks} and the winner of Froch vs Kovalev would have have a very good claim to be due a fair {or what passes for fair in America} share of the money. I don't have to lay any groundwork for anything, and did not attempt to do so. Ward's best interests, up and until he fights again, is to let the pieces fall where they will, regarding Kovalev and Froch. He's still beaten Froch, and can still get some mileage out of that, for now.....and Kovalev is at 175. So Ward is in the clear....as I say, for now. If Froch, on the other hand, does manage to beat Kovalev, then he deserves parity for a Ward rematch, {Bute, Kessler, Groves, Kovalev and the fact that its the most lucrative fight Ward can make =parity} but Ward could take that fight in great confidence knowing as he does that: 1. He's already beaten Froch, and has is number, stylistically. 2. Froch is racking up mad miles. Which he is. Spin it any way you like. 3. It would be at 168 where Ward is most comfortable. If Kovalev takes Froch out, then Ward don't have to worry about Froch, one way or the other, and Kovalev, if Ward feels like it, is "still at 175". Wards biggest problem then is just finding somebody that the networks will accept, and we've seen his team to be most flexible in that regard. So Ward really does OK out of Kovalev fighting Froch now/soon. Really he does.
You are saying all of this so that if Ward fights one of these blokes and win, it will be because of "miles on the clock", "lots of hard fights" and not because he was a better fighter
