We've seen all kinds of showboating and cockiness, especially in fights that were mismatches, but have you ever seen this? Have you ever seen the CORNER and the FIGHTER (During the 60 second rest periods) say talk about their plans for the night, women, or maybe a knock knock jokes ? Or maybe both checking out a ring card girl ? Hitting on the ring card girl? Shit like that. Ever seen anything like it? It seems like purposely incorporating something like this would help a fighter add to the cocky image a lot of them are trying to create. I could see Hamed, Roy, Floyd, or even Broner doing something like this. So have you seen something like this before?

The only one I think of is Merkerson telling Roy something along the lines of "Roy, remember we got to be somewhere tonight" against Glen Kelly.

It was in between rounds before Roy did the behind the back KO.

There's NO Footage of it, but 2008 U.S. Olympian, Luis Yanez, Walked Back to his Corner During a Fight & Made his Trainer SIT on the Stool, btwn Rounds...Asked How he was Doing, Gave him Water, Toweled him Off, the Whole 9...Funniest Shit REED's EVER Seen @ a Boxing Match...

I can't think of such event (great idea though).

The best discussion I remember in the corner happened in semi-finals of Olympis '92. Cuban Hector Vinent had been giving a whipping to the Finnish guy in the first round. In the corner, the coach was trying to give a pep talk to him. It went like this

coach: Every time he moves in, throw that one-t...
    fighter: Fuck I can't!
    coach: I see..

Then they were quiet for a while before the coach began mumbling some useless advice

I'll throw in the most famous example of between-rounds corner psychology, Foreman standing against the ropes instead of sitting on his stool

Hops doing pushups on his way to the corner is another one that sort of fits

I always thought the Roy one was something he pre-arranged knowing full well there'd be a camera and a mic in that corner

I remember Jorge Paez messing around with ring card girls in between rounds, hugging them, trying to kiss them, etc.
