Burns won the first round pretty easily.

Good fight. Ricky is no Froch in any regard but he does maintain a very respectable level of competition. Beltran looks compact and powerful, Burns fast and too eager by far, so far.

Gave Burns the 3rd. I do wish the fucking broadcast would stop showing ads and let us watch the corners at work and listen to them.

I thought Beltran won the 3rd. Higher quality.

Jesus, Jim Watt could pick the negatives out of a lottery win  Sure, Ricky isn't fighting great and is letting Beltran into it, but Watt acts like Burns was walking forward eating every fucking shot. Good commentary is not essential to make a good fight but shitty commentary can ruin an otherwise good one.

Yeah, Beltran is very patient and very compact and seems diligent.

Beltran is smart, won't throw punches when Burns is against the ropes, Burns is clowning and getting caught, being told by his corner to cop himself on, and rightly so, too busy gurning and smiling.

Burns jab gets the quality vote, as does Beltran's diligence up close. I don't like how Ricky is being allowed to pull Beltran's head down like that. Burns throws a nice right to the body, Beltran a good left to the body. 5th a hard round to call. Probably give it to Ricky off the jabs.

Burns throwing a much shorter right now. Its hurting Beltran that Beltran won't let his hands go against the ropes, as Beltran could conceivably be dropping rounds off the inactivity. Burns is moving and jabbing, and when Beltran gets him against the ropes, he {sensibly} won't let his hands go, as there is no real target, but you cannot win a round that way either. In the mauls, Burns is doing OK, Beltran does look diligent and cunning when he moves into range, but his best options are to get Burns to lead and take advantage of the gaps, which is ironic, given the pressure-nature of Beltran, he's not a counterer as such. Burns having a very good 6th as a result of that.

After 6, probably agree with Watt's card. 3-3 is fair

When Burns jabs, moves, slides a right hand, and gets proper flurries off, Beltran looks average. When Burns leads with body shots and falls in, Beltran takes advantage of the gaps and looks good. Really odd fight.

Yeah but the Brits traditionally tend to favour the foreigner for some reason. Beltran now taking a backward step, but I think that's tactical, he knows he can nail Burns when Burns is forced to lead, and making Burns lead isn't hard, Burns is so fucking eager that he could start leading in between rounds.

Nice 7th for Burns. Wouldn't surprise me if he wins the rest of the rounds

Great balls from Beltran. Looked like the fight might be slipping away and he's evened it right up.
