Burns knocked down by a boxer with no head movements

Yep, and he got caught because he was winging those shots. I wondered if Beltrans retreat might be tactical rather than by way of being tired or hurt. I do wonder if Burns gets through this round if Beltrans chance won't have slipped away.

Well it is a very close fight. If Burns just moves, slides and jabs he will win and deservedly so. Beltran really doesn't offer anything much when Burns moves and jabs. Burns offers fuck all when he's doing his Roy Jones impressions.

Beltran being picked off at will when Burns moves. Cannot understand why Ricky insists on standing at close range and winging wide lead shots. When he moves, he spears his man and totally outboxes him. Its not flashy, its not massive, but its really effective and neat and will win him the fight. But he chooses not to. So.....:dunno:

Burns getting great advice in there. Stay on your toes, jab. Easy night. Burns might have a broken jaw.

Burns is outboxing Beltran for large parts of the rounds. Apart from the knockdown, I would give Burns a great chance of still carrying the fight. Beltran should be warned for use of the head and for also hitting on the break. I think Burns is boxing great when he moves and throws straight shots. He's getting solid advice. He should not be complaining to his corner about his fucking jaw, and rightly so. Ring is not a place to feel sorry for yourself.

Have to figure Beltran needs to win both these rounds clearly to get a decision.

Beltran might yet rue letting that 11th being so close. He had no business giving that round away.

That's Jim Watt. He does that all the time. Ask feebles. Granted, Beltran is winning, I never said he wasn't, I just don't feel he is winning every second of every round, like Watt does.

Beltran didn't really do shit that round, Burns R12 by staying busy, could see the 11th going to him, Beltran won the 10th. How'd you guys score it?

Loverly lateral movement from Burns there, negating a lot of Beltrans single left hooks. Beltran sort of reduced to a plodding hooker for me, that knockdown maybe has kidded him into thinking he needs to end it on one or two big shots. Burns, incredibly, may just have won the last two rounds on movement and clean effective shots.

Beltran looks a bit disconsolate. :scratcher:

6-6 with the KD tipping it for Beltran would he a fair card.

If you apply the Max Kellerman thinking, yes, he did. Beltran, for larger parts of the fight than Burns, looked like a guy who was imposing his will. The problem in this case is that Burns, when forced to fight a different fight, also did a lot of clean boxing. So.........I would say Beltran won the fight but I would not complain with a draw on the cards. Beltran seemed too inactive after the knockdown, too dependent on single power-laden shots.
