Great win at the time but not so much in hindsight

    I'll start it off with Calzaghe vs Lacy

    Good shout

    Hopkins/Trinidad (Still a very good win, obviously... Much more impressive than whupping a can like Lacy, but there's no question it was diminished as the years went on especially after the Wright fight)

    Nope, not diminished at all. Tito was a consensus top 3 P4P fighter, the clear favorite in the fight, and Hopkins clinically DESTROYED him then knocked him out (only time Tito was stopped). The version of Tito that Hopkins dominated was also different than the version Winky jabbed to death for 12 rounds. The version of Tito that Winky beat was older, slower, less sharp, and less determined.

    In case you didn't notice, man, Trinidad has been downgraded to like Yori Boy Campas status over the last few years... He's not a consensus anything... As long as there are a lot of people, right or wrong, who think Trinidad was a stiff in hindsight, the greatness of that victory will be compromised

    All fighters are judged in hindsight, judged by history... There's no question that the Trinidad victory is no longer as big a deal as it once was... That can't be argued... what you or I think as individuals is irrelevant... I still think it's a good win, but I'm not millions of people

    Tyson/Spinks was a big deal at the time, but to history it's a great heavyweight pancaking a great Light Heavyweight

    Tito was coming off the Joppy destruction, and yeah it was a huge deal at the time. In hindsight we just learned that it was a decent win (because Hopkins turned out to be even better than we thought, and Tito even more one dimensional than we thought) oh ya and we also learned that Joppy sucks...a lot.

    I was so good in the sister-thread that I am allowed some latitude here.

    Purritty vs Wlad.

    Nobody who loses to Corrie Sanders is really all that good. Sorry Ross.

    {Hint: Sanders beat both of them}

    I don't really see it. Baldomir was what he was. A below average fighter who had a good year.

    Yeah, it's Mostly an ARM Punch...Very Little Hip Motion or Swivel when he Throws it...But it's Obviously Been Successful Throughout his Career...

    Floyd Does it in Fights Too, Bro...Peep the Ortiz KO...There's Been Other Instances, but the Ortiz Fight Sprung to Mind 1st...Floyd RARELY Throws the Textbook, Swiveling Hip Left Hook...It's Almost like a VERY Hard Bitchslap:lol:...

    It Keeps Floyd from OVER Committing or Losing Balance, they Way Some Hookers Do...Given his Defensive Wherewithal, it's Probably Thrown @ that Particular Angle for that Very Reason...
