I would let him weigh in at whatever he wanted, Then when I beat him and collected my easy millions, I might still have a crutch to support a fairly facile victory and prop it up as something more. Floyd could do this, safe in the knowledge that Canelo wouldn't come in too heavy either. Instead, we have the guy dropping two pounds which we are pretty sure he wouldn't otherwise be dropping.

There has to be a reason to it. If it is simply and solely the case that Alvarez people came rushing in and jumped the queue by offering to drop weight, then fine. But Alvarez is the best test out there right now.

In any event, coming in at ones own volition at a certain weight to fight Matthew Hatton and coming in at a stipulated weight to fight Floyd Mayweather have got to be totally different things.
