Realistic next option? Rematch with Garcia? Possibly. A fight against Mike Alvarado is unlikely (GBP-TR), but Matthysse-Provodnikov? Man, that would be great.

    Thoughts?

Whatever he wants....he is good enough to beat anyone at 140....and that includes Garcia in a rematch...

Only real options @ 140 are a Garcia rematch and Provodnikov, IMO. Other big name fighters are with Top Rank or move up to 147.

He's not that type of fighter though. Likes to get stuck in.

Garcia might have the best chin in boxing. I don't see anybody else from 135-140 taking Luke's shots.

Obviously, if not from the promoter dispute, I'd love to see him vs the Alvarado-Provo winner.

Khan will destroy Matthysse, Lucas should avoid that fight as Amir would end his career.

Ahhh, Khan fans still have hope for this clown's career. How cute.

Khan is the British Andre Berto.

REED Wouldn't Be Opposed to an EVENTUAL RE w/Garcia, but Certainly Not Anytime Soon...Dude just Got SCHOOLED...

Anyone in the Top 5 @ 140, OTHER than Garcia, Would Be Fine w/REED...If he Puts Together 2-3 IMPRESSIVE Wins, Over Top Guys, THEN a RE w/Garcia...

Khan would have to jab and run all night against Matthyssee but he doesn't have good enough defense to avoid him all night.

I'd like to see that fight, though.

Matthysse gets put to sleep like Meryl Streep. Too much speed to handle.

Maidana is the fight to be made.

Matthysse's eye was jacked and he only needs to make a few adjustments to possibly change the outcome against Garcia. Heck, he can make no adjustments and just have his power work. Nobody's chin is good enough to stand up to a puncher like Matthysse every time.

I'm probably the biggest Lucas fan on this forum, but I don't see much point in a rematch. Danny kicked his ass pretty clearly. Took his best shots, and always returned fire. To me, he just seemed stylistically all wrong for Lucas.

Matttthhhhyyysse's Power is OBVIOUSLY Legit...The Problem Last Night was his Attack...It Wasn't IMAGINATIVE Enough...By the 5th or 6th Round, You Could TELL Garcia WASN'T Getting KO'ed...

Honestly, REED Thinks Garcia Beats him Even EASIER in a RE...Not a KO or Anything, but an Even MORE 1-Sided UD...Styles...If they Fought 10 Times, Garcia Wins 8 of them...

I think Danny beats him again, but he'd have to be careful because Matthyssee can KO anyone he hits flush...

That said, I think Garcia's boxing skill, chin, and intelligence get the job done. Danny is really getting better and better.

Broner vs Garcia is the fight to build and set up and hopefully it happens no later than 2015

The 1st Half of the Bout was Competitive...Not Soooo Much in the Latter Half...& 1nce Garcia Closed Matttthhhhhyyyyyssse's Eye, it was a WRAP...

It Wasn't an ASSWHIPPING, Per Se, but REED Would Definitely Say Garcia SCHOOLED him...

I was talking to some of Garcias friends and they brushed off talk of a rematch like there was no reason for it

It was a weird fight, because you kind of got the impression it was close but that Lucas got a bit schooled at the same time. Doesn't make much sense but ghat's why it was weird. There were really only 2 rounds I think where Garcia dominated and you thought he might stop Lucas, that's after the eye got busted up of course.

round 11 was one of lucas' best rounds of the fight until the kd. that probably won garcia the fight.

Exactly my feelings on this one. Most people probably watched the fight thinking, he can and probably will KO Garcia anytime he choses to. The swelling clearly was a turning point. When it occurred Lucas was visibly distracted and got in trouble pretty soon. Once he adapted it looked like Garcia could be in troubles considering his fading against Judah down the stretch and there were some shaky moments for him later on.

Considering all circumstances it wasn't really a schooling but he completely surprised most people's expectations and that has always a very strong effect on people's perception. That's probably what made him look so impressive.

Because you were watching Molina vs Ishe Smith thinking it was Garcia vs Mathysse. :nana:
