This is all about Europe. Ukraine vs Russia. Its got nothing to do with the likes of Haye and Chisora. Their, ahem, sort would not grasp it. This is historic. Its not about the dregs of society, such as they are. And don't get me started on Fury. He should be brought to Treblinka and shot in the noggin.

If Povetkin beats Wlad, will be regarded as just another champion in a weak era? Will he get any credit? Would he get as much credit in victory as Speckled Speck got in defeat vs Floyd?

Povetkin fought an elimination tournament vs. Byrd and Chambers back in 2007. Since, he has been a useless cunt.

You should be super pumped, I don't blame wald pussy for Povetkin's wasted career at all.

Probably depends how he wins. It'll be perceived the way it'll be perceived. You can't control that kinda stuff beforehand.

I used to be high on Povetkin a few years ago. Tought he could beat the Klits if he continued progressing like he did.. Now, he seems like he has lost all the momentum he had, and seems to be worse than he was. It will be Wlad-sultan all over again.

Really? Based on what? Povetkins proven track record of adopting a south-paw stance and backpedalling like fuck trying to sucker his man onto one big left and losing every round in the process??

Povetkin will come forward for as long as he can and try to slip inside and throw punches in bunches.

This is a far far more clued in guy than the speckled speck.

Povetkin will try to roll in under his high guard, then let his hands go. If he has the patience and the nerve, he will double up on his jab, step in, slip, and let fly with both barrels. He knows he risks getting tagged on the outside so that's his best plan, make a war of it, hope that Klitschko gets admonished for holding and leaning on.

He knows he won't be punched in the back of the skull like the Huck fight, so he can rest easy about that much.

I'd like to see Wlad throw the hook in a good bit more in this fight. He can catch Povetkin coming in with it. Ideally for him, jab, right hand, a few clubbing lefts, then lean down on the smaller man, he should be ready to go after 7 or 8 rounds of that.

Canelo beat Trout earlier this year. Povetkin beat Byrd 6 fuckin' years ago.

This is more misleading than any episode of 24/7

I fear he will just stay outside after eating a few jabs, as povetkin doesn't seem like the most courageous sort, based on his career path. Hopefully you're right, cause if he fight like you think he wil,, it will make a godd fight

Fuck me I can't believe the Chambers fight was all the way back in 2007.

Less of a size difference than I expected btw. The 6'2 Povvles seems to look bigger next to wald pussy than 6'3 Haye did.

Well he is 10lbs heavier than Haye was, for openers. Plus his skull is bigger, he's the natural 225lbr.

Trout is a 2007 Byrd level win. Only it didn't happen in 2007.

You disagree that Povetkin wasted his prime?

He looks thicker for sure, but he even seems to look a bit taller than Haye did in comparison.

Yep, Byrd and Chambers were both 2007. He's fucked off since then.

A shame, I really liked Povetkin back then.

I agree. You could even say he has not earned a title shot save by anything other than dint of staying undefeated and fighting cans whilst waiting for everyone else to lose to Wlad, thus bumping him up the line. I would not disagree with that.

HOWEVER.......that doesn't mean he cannot fight, is not motivated and is not dangerous. He's not a slob, he is fighting at home, and has the best ammy pedigree of anybody Wlad ever fought, bar none.

So he is a live dog, a much liver dog than Speckled Speck, regard being had to the relative superiority of Floyd over Wlad, and regard being had to the direct superiority of Povetkin over Alvarez.

Thus, regard being had to Klitschkos vulnerabilities, and regard being had to Povetkins own talent, its one of the best fights going this calendar year. It is also worth pointing out that the other cunts, {Haye, Chisora and Fury} rather than get busy and do their own thing, prefer to ride a Klitschkos coat tails again and again and again. Its what has done the division down these past 10 years.

I'd give him more of a chance if not for the Huck fight. He should have wiped Huck out by the halfway point.

He probably took Huck very lightly, and Huck roided up and hit him over the back of the head repeatedly. Povetkin got that one badly wrong. Huck makes the money in that particular equation, and he was always going to get away with murder. Also, when Povetkin needed advice, what did he get? He got Teddy Atlas, he would intone the spirit of Dead Daddy Povetkin to absolutely ZERO fucking effect.

I know Povetkin definitely was good at some point. I'm just not sure if he's still good. He's spent so much time screwing around.

I liked him. I hate when a fighter with potential wastes away on the vine. I've been saying this about Povetkin for a couple years now, long before he signed to fight wald pussy.

The truth is, I don't know if he'll give a good fight because I feel like I don't know where he's at anymore.

No, but his most effective style is better suited to young men. Especially in a fight like this. He'll need to be aggressive, he'll need his handspeed.

    Possibly.

I did rate Povvles back in the day, so I hope he can regain some of his old form.

I fear he isn't the ballsiest sort though as joM alluded to, he'll probably mooch around getting jabbed silly rather than do what he needs to to win, which is punch his way inside and lay the smack down on wald pussy.

Povetkin looked much the same as always in his last two. It's not like he has miles on the clock

He's obviously nowhere near shot, he just doesn't look as good, fast and explosive as when he was in his prime.
