I'll be at this show at the O2 arena.

Joshua's up against an unbeaten Italian with an 8(3)-0 record. You know, I think Joshua's got some handy tools but I can really see him getting layed out soon enough. Call it a gut feeling. I hope not though for the sake of British Heavyweight boxing. It's a bit of a long shot, but we need him to be the next Lennox.

Let's hope he won't become another A-Farce. We have seen so many gold medalists disappoint.

God, I hope not. I like how Joshua carries himself. Not overly annoying or anything. Calm and confident in a quiet way. I just hope he tries to loosen up a bit when he fights and isn't too stiff. BIG pressure on him to perform.

He won't make it. Too stiff, too easy to hit, and he was plain beaten twice at the Olympics.

I think he should have waited another four years and fought in the next Olympics like Lennox did after losing in '84. I think he has talent but is way too raw at this stage.

And where will Haye, Chisora and Fury be? At ringside to support this new kid? No. Of course not.

I hope me winning tickets to this is a sign. The start of a journey that will end up with Joshua being Heavyweight champion of the World.

To be fair, the only example I can think of when an active boxer (from the same division) supported a fellow Brit turning pro was when Lewis was ringside for Harrison's debut. Did Hatton or Vanzie support Khan? Did Froch support Chunky? I honestly can't remember, didn't realise it was a "done thing".

That specifically was what I was referring to. Harrison's debut was attended by the good and the great of British sport. That was in 2001 or something. 12 years on, the Guardian has done a special write up for the debut of Joshua, but as of right now has done no article to cover the HW title fight in Moscow at which Mssrs Haye, Povetkin, Klitschko, Chisora and Fury will all be in attendance. I would like to say that Mssrs Klitschko and Haye will be doing the boxing but given Hayes and Chisoras reputation and Furys status as Tinker Emeritus, that might be premature.

I guess boxing really is dead when the papers are writing about the debut of the future star and keeping schtum about the actual title fight the same day.

Peter Fury said that Tyson won't be ringside tonight.

Jimmy is at ringside tonight, keep an eye out for him. SEE IF YOU CAN SEE HIM.

I think Quigg is gonna get schooled here. This Cuban is a smooth boxer.

Fair play to Quigg, really thought he was gonna get schooled after the first two rounds but he turned up the heat and the Cuban had a bit of bitch in him. Very unlucky to not get the win.

Joshua looks talented and this may be a bit harsh for a kid on his debut, but he needs to keep his fucking hands up. He's right in range to get countered and his chin is there to be hit. He looked better than I thought he would although it's clear to see he's no Lennox.

Joshua looks like a robin or sparrow. All body and no legs. He also pushes his shots out like a guy boxing by numbers, especially the way he pulls his hands back to his face. He seems naturally very very heavyhanded, no real fluency or looseness to him though.

Yeah he was pushing the shots out a lot. He does seem to have good power and fast hands though. I think it's a real shame he didn't stay amateur until Rio as I believe the kid has genuine raw talent, and with the changes being made to the amateur game he really would have benefitted from it. He only took up boxing four years ago, it's just not enough IMO.

He doesn't have the poise, yet. He should be able to go far though, but needs a lot of work, I hope he goes away and works quietly.

Will be difficult though with the amount of scrutiny he'll be under. I wish him well though, seems like a good kid.

I agree with you guys on your thoughts on Joshua. He's a big auld lump! He has good power as it is but I'm sure he'll generate more power over time. I like his style. Some people are moaning about the choice of opponent for his debut and slagging Joshua off, but he's a reformed character and now has his head screwed on right.

He definitely seems more of a fighter than Audley was, that's for sure. I was maybe a bit harsh on him yesterday, it was his debut after all. Best to assess him after 8 fights or so.

Yep, and he's thinking realistically too. Not getting ahead of himself or anything. Was glad I saw him live. Has potential for sure. He has more fight in him than Audley.
