He was right in front his man all night, no need to run, he had him off balance right from the opening bell. Povetkin is very skinny in the lower legs, Wlad just had him off balance speared him with the left at will. Biggest knock on Wlad is that he let him go the distance but he didn't half kick fuck out of him. Povetkin showed fuck all in the end. Blaming Klitschko for the holding after the 5th is assinine, the other guy was fucked and just wanted to hold and grab.

 

Yeah and you keep showing up in the hope that he doesn't win. It amuses me no end.

Biggest knock is that Wlad didn't finish him but Povetkin was just bending over at that stage and grabbing his legs. That little lead right uppercut might have been key a bit earlier..

Again, I mean, its there in black and white a few pages back, up to a point, Wlad is to blame. But Povetkin was on the mat in the 2nd round off a perfect, classy left hook. By the fifth, he was just stooping over, leaning in, and then grabbing. He knew if he walked in with his hands moving that Wlad would back up, time him, and nail him. It was Povetkin who really started looking for a way out, who started looking to not fight. Wlad landed all the punches.

With Wlad, its the same. They get this "Holding" thing into their heads {made all the easier by the fact that they don't like him} and then they start to see it everywhere. I lost track of the number of times that Povetkin, around the 5th, just started to lunge with his upper body, leaving his legs behind him so to speak. He didn't punch his way in, left no counter punching opportunities, preferring to just slouch in. Then, he would do nothing once he fell inside, and as he got busted up and picked off, he resorted to leaning over and grabbing around the back of the legs. When Povetkin actually pushed off with some meaningful shots, Wlad would effortlessly move him around with his left arm. It was when Povetkin squatted, dropped his head and just leaned in that Wlad took the chance to drape his weight over him.

Haye avoided it by dropping to the floor every time. Wlad responded by hunting him down and making him run. Yet it is always Klitschkos fault. Always the guilty party. The others come in there convinced that all it takes is to ruffle a few feathers and you are home and hosed. Instead they find out the hard way. Povetkin got his head kicked in. Nobody has sent the man to the mat like that. At one point, Wlad put his left hand around his head and cuffed him like a bear playing with a beer keg, just swatted him to the mat.

But all people here say is "WLAD is holding". Sure...early on he was. As the fight went on, Povetkin would bend over to make Wlad miss with his lead left jabs and hooks, and then just do fuck all on the inside. Wlad would drape his weight over him and dangle his arms freely to indicate that he was not holding.

Ruiz held and clinched as a matter of course, whether the guy walked in, punched his way in, jabbed, ran, you name it.
