If Chavez and Marquez were to fight at 130-140, I would find every possible item of value in my possession, sell those items and then bet all of the proceeds on Julio Cesar Chavez

Yeah they are fair points, but in some ways I think level of dominance per win is overrated. There are many examples of guys that looked very dominant over decent fighters, only to look like shit against elite fighters.

Or even guys like Bernard, who can be highly dominant against good fighters because he has the type of crafty, spoiling style to just shut guys down if they have enough holes in their game, or are green enough to be exploited.

Then you have guys like Marquez, who just don't have the type of style that leads to domination for some reason. Some of that is fighting to the level of opposition, and some of it is just a style thing I think. Marquez is the type of guy to only do enough to win a round, and not really shut the other guy down.

Morales has a totally different style but is another example of a guy who is never that dominant, always in closer fights than his level of ability should be, but gets the wins.

I agree the Norwood fight was a stinker, and close, but I think Marquez nicked it.

Basically my point is winning is the most important thing, and Marquez IMO has beaten everyone he's ever faced apart from Floyd. That's pretty fucking signiciant for a 40 year old fighter who's faced the variety of fighters he has faced across 5 weight classes.

To be (only a little) facetious, what wins do Tyson, Louis, Marciano, Liston, etc, ect, etc have which compare to clean a KO win over Lennox Lewis?

That comparison is not good enough. Lewis is a guy with a known shaky chin, that was knocked out twice with single punches, and fought in a very safety first style to protect his chin. Pacquiao is a highly aggressive guy, who a proven solid chin at the higher weights. The guy flat out walked Cotto down, a guy with solid power, and took his punches like they were nothing.

Yet Marquez's superb timing and accuracy combined with excellent power managed to get a perfect KO of him.

It's also not good enough because if you take Pacquiao out of Marquez's career - then he's arguably only lost to Floyd, an amazing fighter several weight classes bigger, and a horrendous style matchup. And has accomplishments that shit on McCall and Rahman.

I've never understood your hate for Big Lenny, he's clearly a great fighter and most would love to see a guy like that in today's HW division
