He has the ability to tie him up, toss out a jab here and there and back away... He can last the distance... You are acting like we're putting some legendary banger in there with the guy
Forrest had the long arms necessary to tie Shane up. It'd be harder for Canelo and his alligator arms to pull that off. Especially when the gap in speed would be overwhelming.
Forrest had the long arms and jab necessary to BEAT Mosley in one-sided fashion... I'm not asking Canelo to duplicate Vernon Forrest... I'm asking him to lose a one-sided decision
Brother CLOGG.. You are saying canelasshole is the same as Forrest...not true Forrest is long and rangy and a good boxer Canasshole is more compact and a boxer/puncher Shane would slaughter this boy
Hell, shot to shit Shane was hitting Canelo with a hell of a lot of punches. I can only imagine how bad the 2000 version would have beat on him. We get it Cdogg you don't think much of Shane. Every good win Shane had obviously there's some excuse as to why he beat those guys (Vargas was old, Margarito didn't train, Oscar beat the motivation out of Mayorga, plus Shane is so stupid Forrest beat him with a jab). If it's so simple how come nobody else could do it? Look nobody is saying Shane was an all time great but he's a hell of a lot better than you give him credit for. Take off the hate tinted glasses my friend.
Holy fuck you guys are goddamned retards lb for lb, seriously read the fucking thread (my posts in particular) and then fucking read what you wrote and ask yourself "does this make sense? should I be addressing this to him in this way??"
Stylewise I'd favor the 2002 Forrest over any of the current welters and junior middles. I mean, let's be honest, he'd beat the shit outta a guy like Bradley. And Canelo is too methodical and fights in spurts too much to have beaten Forrest.
The best kind of guy for beating Forrest is either a real terrific pressure fighter with good head movement or a guy who is also tall or taller and negate his jab and his reach can't think of anyone fighting right now that would fit either bill
I'm pretty sure Floyd has never fought anyone remotely like Forrest and has never defeated a single high quality welterweight
Annihilate isn't the right word. Floyd would school Mayorga, but he wouldn't be able to hurt him at all.
