...how long would Rich Franklin's title reign have lasted, and who would have beaten him for the title.

    Discuss.

I think Marquardt beats him about the same time Silva did.

    If not, Henderson does.

We'll, yeah. If you remove Silva from the picture then you remove the ass whipping he put on Marquardt. If not for THAT loss, the streaking Marquardt gets a title shot and I like his chances back then against Franklin.

You would also remove the ass whoopings that Silva put on Franklin, which he never fully recovered from mentally, in my opinion.

I think Franklin would've handled Marquart pretty easily.

It's speculative either way, but it's hard for me to see Franklin easily beating Marquardt. He could have won, but I don't think he runs over Nate.

It's easy to forget how good Frankin looked before Silva took his soul.

Sonnen was a loss machine until he started juicing.

I'm glad the UFC got rid of that fucker Palhares, but I really wish they'd get rid of the juicers. (Which would get rid of Palhares, anyway.)

The ironic thing about Palhares is that I thought his cocksucker move against Drwal was quite a bit worse than against Reid.
The announcers didn't make much of a deal about the Reid fight, at all.

Anyone seen Palhares do the same thing to a guy inbetween these fights? It's getting referenced that it occurred in a competition, not an mma bout. I had never heard of it.

The sad part is that I really like what Palhares accomplishes if he was doing it clean. Short tank with awesome leg-lock moves who can hang with the 185 lb giants. At 170, he figured to be a force. Fuck him.

Ya fuck him. I wonder what's wrong with that idiot. He could seriously injure somebody. Is it just a tough guy act ? Does the roid rage put him in the moment so much that he doesn't know what he's doing? What do you think? Or is he just a stupid asshole?

Franklin wasn't a very good fighter. He wouldn't have been a dominant fighter even if Silva never went to the UFC

Except that he was, until Silva showed up.

Yeah, don't get me wrong. I'd pick Marquardt and Hendo to beat Franklin back then. But I could just as easily see the opposite result. The Hendo that showed up against Shields gets steamrolled by Rich.

Franklin was a very good Middleweight. And Silva's success has shown that it wasn't an ordinary fighter that derailed Franklin.

Mike Swick probably gives him fits around that time.

Dont like Marquardt's chances. Nate never really was great at anything. Im not really with the whole idea that Franklin was ruined by Anderson Silva. He was still quite good after both losses, and more recent losses are more due to age.

Vitor Belfort probably beats him too.

He and Dan are a toss up...given their matchup and resume
