"Ain't Doing Shit This Year" Meaning WHAT???... As Looooooooong as Rose is HEALTHY, the Bulls WILL Be a Genuine CHAMPIONSHIP Contender...REED Doesn't See them BEATING the Heat in a 7 Game Series, but a Bulls-Heat Eastern Conference Finals Matchup ISN'T a PipeDream... w/a HEALTHY Rose, the Bulls are as Much of a THREAT to the Heat as the Pacers are... REED:hammert:
Bulls are a tough matchup for anyone. If the Pacers had half the heart of that Bulls team, they would've beaten Miami in the playoffs.
Reaching the Conference Finals Makes You a "Championship Contender", Bro, Unless You're Saying the Indiana Pacers AREN'T 1???... w/Derrick Rose, the Bulls WILL Be in the Mix for that Status... REED:hammert:
If Health FINDS Oden, that Just MIGHT Be Enough to Convince Bron to Re-Sign w/the Heat, Next Off-Season...Fuck a 3-Peat, if Oden's HEALTHY, the Heat Could Win 4-5 Straight... That Could Be VERY Enticing to Bron... REED:hammert:
Nets are ridiculously deep. They're playing Miami right now. No Lebron, KG and Kirilenko. I think Bosh not playing either. No clue. http://www.iguide.to/view/7320/watch-live-nbamax-channel-for-free
About the Rockets... First, Lin is not a bum. Last year he was an average starting PG. This year is a make it/break it year on whether or not he has a future in Houston. I have to change my tune on Asik being traded after watching Asik/Howard play together Vs. the Spurs Splitter/Duncan. They shutdown them down. But, Asik/Howard playing together won't be an every game type of thing. Against the bigger teams such as SA, Memphis, Clips, I could see that duo working quite well. I'm hearing Anderson could already be had for Asik, but Rockets GM believes he can get more if it comes down to a trade. If Asik gets traded, it will be for a stretch PF. Aldridge doesn't fit that mold although I believe the Rockets would pull the trigger for a straight up swap, but word is Portland wants a king's ransom for him. If Asik stays, look for Omri Casspi of all people to have a very good year filling that role as the stretch 4 they are looking for, sharing time with the other PF's on the roster. Rockets will lose to the Heat in the Finals in 6.
Ryan Anderson? No chance New Orleans makes that deal after they just picked up Gortat. That's a bit too much money invested in guys who are going to take each other's minutes and really neither can play PF unfortunately. EDIT: Nevermind. I appear to be intoxicated. Gortat went to the Wizards. That trade makes a lot of sense I would think, Anderson really enjoyed playing next to Dwight as well.
I had to recheck the Gortat deal to see if I was retarded :: The Anderson deal does make sense, but the Rockets feel Asik is worth more and he is.
lin is not an average PG. that means he's top 16. which he isnt. asik is worth more than anderson. i dont know what is considred a kings ransom but if the rockets acquired aldridge Id make them title favorites ahead of mia. as it stands now they are viable contenders.
Jeremy Lin DOESN'T have to Be Top 16 to Be Considered an Average NBA PG, Neil...The Thing Is, PG is Perhaps THE Deeeeeeeeeeepest Position in the Entire League...Practically EVERY Team has a LEGIT PG, INCLUDING Houston, Homey...Hell, Most Teams have Pretty Good BACKUP PG's these Days, as Well... Nobody's Saying Lin is GREAT, but he Damn Sure AIN'T a Bum Either...13.4pts, 6.1dimes, 3boards, 1.6stls..."Bums" DON'T Put Up #'s like that in the NBA, Bro... REED:nono:
rose, westbrook, williams, irving, parker, rondo, jennings, felton, lillard, miller, jack, teague, hill, lawson, holiday, wall, curry, paul, walker, vasquez, conley, dragic, calderon lowry, chalmers, rubio, bledsoe, nelson id take any of those guys ahead of lin and probably a few more younger guys
Neil, You're Smoking CRACK if You'd HONESTLY Take George Hill (THE Clear WEAKNESS of the Pacer Starters), Mario Chalmers (a "PG" that RARELY Even Handles the Rock), or Jameer Nelson's INJURY PRONE Ass Over Lin...Hell, Lin QUICKLY Made Knicks Fans FORGET about Raymond Felton Too...Brandon Jennings and Kemba Walker are Really UNDERSIZED 2-Guards, Masquerading as PG's...They're Both Allen Iverson WANNABE's... Guys like Calderon, Lowry & Vasquez are Probably on the SAME Level as Lin...Granted, Andre Miller had a BETTER Career than Lin will Ever Have, but he's 137 Years Old Now... Again, Jeremy Lin ISN'T Great...He's an AVERAGE PG, Meaning, he's NOT a Liability...Referring to Dude as a "Bum" is Ludicrous...Lin's #'s SHIT on the Notion of him Being a "Bum", Homey... REED:mj:
George Hill rates better than Jeremy Lin in every advanced statistical measurement in existence and is much better with the simple eye-test as well. Not sure why he is being underrated here. And he certainly isn't the weak link to that starting group, in the playoffs especially Indiana struggled when Hill was out due to missing his length and great ball pressure on defense. He may lack great playmaking ability but he makes up for it with efficient scoring and low turnovers. And defensively the gap between the two is immense. Hill is very good defensively while Lin is improved but still fairly awful at defending 1 on 1 which makes him unreliable against superstar players...especially in late game scenarios.
lin is rubbish defensively. cant check anyone. cant hit open shots so he is basically useless off the ball. if he has the ball in his hands alot he can score some, but all that is doing is taking it out of the hands of better players.
Is Silent Night, Mr. "Rebounding is a MEANINGLESS Stat", the Author of the "Russell Westbrook ISN'T Really a Good Dribbler" Quote, SERIOUSLY Telling REED to Use the "Simple Eye Test"???... WOW!!!... REED:atu:
No idea what you are talking about with the rebounding nonsense. But rebound percentage is more important than rebounds per game. Rebound percentage is obviously very important. And I'm not sure if anyone who actually watches basketball would call Westbrook anything more than a straight line driver. He has 2 guard level ball handling skill...which in fairness is enough to get the job done given Brooks' extremely simplistic offensive scheme and Russell's continued use off the ball. And he's improving enough to justify his high turnover rate and out of control forays to the basket... Non-sequiturs aside George Hill is simply better than Jeremy Lin.
You Know EXACTLY What REED is Talking about, Because he WIPED his Ass w/that Comment You Made Under Your ORIGINAL Username..."Rebounding is a Meaningless Stat"...That was YOU...Being a CHICKENSHIT Poster & Changing your Username ISN'T Fooling Anybody, TLC... If Russell Westbrook WASN'T a Good Dribbler, he WOULDN'T Be the PG of a Team that's Been to the FINALS, w/a Fucking CAREER Assist Average of 7 PER Game...SOMEBODY Would've EXPLOITED his LACK of Dribbling Ability By Now, if it Existed...Or Do You REALLY Think NBA Teams Simply ALLOW him to Dribble, Despite NOT Being "Good" @ it, as You FOOLISHLY Think???... LAME Ass Alias Aside, Hill was a LIABILITY to the Pacers in Last Season's Playoffs...Hell, the WAY You Just Described Him, You're Calling him a 2-Guard YOURSELF...But Again, this is a PG Discussion, Homegirl... When it Comes to Basketball Talk, You Should Heed the 1st Word of your NEW Username & Remain SILENT... REED:shit:
hill on the rockets instead of lin would be a huge upgrade. hill definitely laid an egg in the miami series. to say he was a liability in the playoffs is hardly true overall. he played well against the knicks. it aint like lin did well against miamis perimeter defense when they played. basically lin is lucky he is chinese and the rockets wanted to maintain their fanbase in china built with ming. the guy is overpaid and is not a piece/contributor to a contending team.
You mean like his 2 guard esque- 100 plus ballhandling turnovers that Westbrook has averaged over the last 2-3 seasons? There is a reason, other than carelessness that Westbrook perennially is among the league leaders in turnovers. Mario Chalmers is a relatively poor ballhandler by NBA PG standards as well, routinely failing to even beat a press or ball pressure, yet he is a PG on a Finals team based on role. Westbrook has speed and athleticism to drive despite limited ballhandling ability and has developed a rather consistent mid range pull-up to counteract his utter lack of shiftiniess or subtlety with the ball. Also, Hill wasn't great against Miami, but the Pacers definitely played worse without him when he got injured for a game...especially defensively in the Knicks series. He's a capable playmaker that doesn't need to do that much playmaking due to having two post up bigs. If he was asked to run more pick and roll and couldn't do it then you might have a point, but he's a very above average role player by any metric or observation. Especially since George Hill can actually shoot from the outside and can cover a bit for Harden's defensive deficiencies in a pinch. I'm sure ceteris paribus the Rockets would trade Hill for Lin straight up any day of the week. In practice though they probably wont because Lin is Chinese and a media darling.
I'd compare this to Chris Paul, but that would just be unfair. Rondo would be a good one, but he got injured. It's also hard to use an "average" NBA point guard as Westbrook as a comically high 31 percent usage rate, which is the highest in the league among point guards. The second closest is Kyrie Irving, mostly thought of as an elite ballhandler due to his dazzling array of dribble moves and tight handle... Has about 40 less in 22 less games...given his rate of a little over 1 per game...he'd still have 20 or so less ball handling turnovers in the year with similar usuage. Tony Parker with a 26.6 usage Curry Neither of these guys are elite ballhandlers. The elite ballhandlers in the league are Paul and Rondo...Lawson and Rubio are just behind. Rondo has a shortened year but let's look at the others. Lawson's numbers playing in what is essentially a fast break offense as the teams primary ballhandler. Rubio Chris Paul..arguably the greatest ballhandler in league history(sans the occasional uncalled carry) Also let's take a look at Westbrook's synergy data from last year. Westbrook has never been the most efficient guy around, so his overall PPP shouldn't be too shocking, but let's take a look at the specifics. Fairly average isolation results despite a lot of it. Equally average running the pick and roll(unsuprising given lack of subtlety in his game) Now what is he above average in, cutting, off screen and spotting up. Now if I had no idea what I was looking at, I would have assumed it was a SG's data. So now we see the real (efficient) parts of Westbrook's game. Running like a maniac in transition(with decent results) and shooting...ironically enough. Ballhandling and subtlety is not one of them.
